The best thing we can do is come out against this type of violence and other types of violence all the rhetoric has begot. It cannot and must not be condoned.

The political arena is as charged as it ever has been, and it's not going anywhere. Biden and many other politicians, and I'll say on both sides, have called for a calm amongst the storm.

And, I hope it calms. But, I know Trump and many on the right won't hear that. This is going to be used to rile up people more. Congressmen on the right put out tweets, saying Biden ordered this, and calling for his prosecution, trying to provoke further upset and divide. These are elected officials being terribly irresponsible. They are inflaming an already terrible situation and it's nothing new.

Trump pitted the right against the left to begin with when he first ran for president. There has always been a divide, but he created a canyon, all for his own benefit. He stoked fear and anger, and look where we are.

It's terrible what happened. Lives were lost. I can't even imagine the space their families are in. I'm glad Trump only got grazed. Like I said, I would never wish him or anyone dead. I hope he is doing well.

What happened doesn't change how I view him though. It doesn't change the things he's done. It doesn't change the things he represents. I still think he is a danger to democracy. I will still do what is right. And, that is speaking out against that.

Young people are watching how we are going to handle this, you are right. They need to see us fight for what is right. And, I don't mean be violent, I mean speaking up and standing up for what this country could and should be. That's the heart of Democracy.

And, they should see us being respectful when we do it, or as respectful as we can. Sometimes its hard to be respectful. I know I'm not always as respectful as I can be, but I try.

Yeah, I'm sure he was a staunch republican who only donated money to democrats and wanted to kill Trump.

Or maybe he registered as a republican just before he did the deed so you'd have your moronic little talking point.

Sounds like people who knew him in HS said he wasn't very political but they assumed he was Republican.

Reports are that he was registered as a Republican.

There’s been assassinations and attempts long before the crazy political tenor that has filled the world today.

It’s a big reason why the left fights so hard to regulate guns.

There’s people with mental problems on all sides of politics. Or even outside the realm of politics.

Good luck. 400 million cats are already out of the bag on that one.

Hey, looks like this kid was also bullied in HS... Imagine how universal healthcare with mental health workers stationed at schools could help...

False flag operation seems to be the term I was looking for.

Trump really wanted his shoes back so none of the MAGA faithful would take them as a souvenir.

That’s a normal reaction when Secret Service is escorting you away from an active shooter

I don't think so. We would certainly be hearing that if it was the other way around.

This is the same party that claims Kyle Rittenhouse is an American hero.

But the mere thought of implying this was an inside job is just disgusting..

    Please.

    That kid is no hero.

    It's irresponsible.

Do you really think they killed two people so they could stage this? If they did, that's pretty damned crazy. I just don't see it.

Trump got lucky and he's going to use it for his benefit instead of letting it humble him.

I’m not saying it happened like that. I’m saying it wouldn’t surprise me.

We never thought we’d see a President encourage his cult to storm the capital building either and it happened.

How much more far fetched is it to think he hired some mentally unstable kid to pull this off?

I just read an article where a retired top SS official said he’s very intrigued by how the investigation will unfold because he said that the snipers working should of had a 360 degree shot of the perimeter of the site. To be able to bypass that as a 20 year old kid with no military background with that kind of weapon, was astonishing to him.

Another thing is, with that kind of gun, even a very inexperienced shooter can hit the mark from 150 yards away.

No one even near the line of site was hit with a semi automatic weapon. Trumps ear was hit because of the glass podium shattering. The people hit were in the bleachers, not near where Trump was. It was a weapon that can shoot off several rounds in quick succession.

Just a lot of fishy stuff with all this. Especially the timing of it all.

How is the kid going to know that 150 yards away he could get on this roof and be undetected? Did they have a prior rally at that location that he attended? Did he map it out?

Was SS really that asleep at the wheel?

They’re supposed to be the best of the best and this 20 year old kid who’s dad bought him an AR15 six months earlier outwitted them?
