Scoot would've probably gone #1 if he was a year younger and went in this draft instead of last year. But he had a very bad rookie year and has lost the majority of his value.

Do I think Scoot a few months ago could have been traded for the #1 pick? Certainly no, Scoot didn't have that value any longer.

Its much different comparing a player as a prospect before he has played in the NBA vs after we have seen him for 1 or more years.

This post reminds me of the Blazer Telfair fanboys.

We actually capitalized on Telfair well when he was 20 trading him for Roy. If we could've done the same for Scoot I'd be ecstatic.

Hey man. I’m brand new. I actually was a member of realgm for the last decade, but I discovered this recently - how active it is. Saw TBPup and I think maybe a couple others I remember from there.

Cool, glad to have you here. Realgm forums hurt my eyes. We have people from multiple old forums including realgm, fanhome, basketballforum/basketballboards, oregonlive. I think you'll like it here as I think this has been the best Blazers forum for 15ish years.

I already wrote prior to the draft that I would've gutted the entire roster, except Sharpe, just for Reed Sheppard so yes.

Of course, the reality was that it was probably not even possible since the Hawks don't want more guards and Grant+Blazer picks probably wasn't fetching the #1, Wizards were obsessed with Sarr, and the Rockets always wanted Sheppard and were smoke-screening about Clingan.

Just like with Telfair for Roy and Thomas for Aldridge, it would've taken some creativity just to try to acquire Sheppard. Maybe convincing the Hawks that Risacher would be available at #4 (very likely considering Sarr goes #2 and Rockets have so many talented wing/forwards) and trading Scoot+filler for the #4 pick and exchanging that #4 and filler for #1. I keep forgetting that the Blazers have the 2028 Bucks pick and that would've been something worth playing with, too.

Either way, Sheppard-Williams (who I'll stick to here)-Ware (Edey gone by #14/Deni trade still possible) would've been how it played out. That or Sheppard-Edey-Deni

Scoot had bad efficiency to start, but it’s far from the tragedy you describe lol

Rook, do NOT visit the lonely non-Blazer boards on Sports2. A crazy man named truebluefan roams there. Last year there was a murder over there, so stay away from the bad side of these boards. If you pay your dues to get your card, you get a sheet with all the history. Years ago, a trusted head moderator offed the owner of Sports2 and stole his yacht.

Watching the Lakers. There’s no way Knecht could play small forward. He looks way too small.

Technically he wasn’t offed, just marooned and for all we know he’s still alive on that island.

Well, Meyers might have taken forever to get his shot up, but at least his 3 hit something relatively close to the rim. :P
