Sag for Flagg. Or, go in the pooper for Cooper. The "plan" has a 14%, at best, chance of working out, but it's a shot.
Of course Clingan has completely converted all the moaners who didn't want him, so I'm going to focus on Rayan, who looked a lot more competent out there. He's never going to be an offensive marvel, he just has to bring his offense up enough so that he can be played for his defense without hurting the team. And I think he could be doing that. His defense on Carrington was excellent - Carrington had a little flurry there and it looked like he was going to take over the game, and then they stuck Rupert on him and that definitely nipped that in the bud.
Oh, and after starting poorly, Kennedy Chandler settled down a bit and did some good stuff. Including this great stuff: Not that it was much of a contest, but he seems to have definitively won the battle-of-the-5'11"-ers over poor old Kendric Davis (who started the first game but hasn't since, and didn't play much last night). I am intrigued by Quinn Ellis, though, who looked solid in his few minutes last night.
Clingan is Marc Gasol only 3 inches taller. That is the only thing you'll ever remember out of this summer league. I was there in Vegas when Dame and Leonard played their very first game. I don't remember a damned thing about Meyers. But I knew we were set for a decade at PG. I feel we are set for a decade at center. Best summer league since 2012.
If I saw the leg brace, my brain refused to remember it. In fact, what are we even discussing? Braces? Yes I used to have them when I was 15.
I would like to see him maintain his weight around 280. (He weighed in at 282 at the combine) Hopefully, as he gets stronger over time, he can do it without adding more weight.
So more like this: ...and less like this: Less.........................................................................More
I'm not gonna give up hope on McGowens that he can be a player some day. Sure, needs to be less selfish with the ball and step up his defense. but I like how he attacks the basket and he seems a little bit smoother, than say, Banton. He's shot very well from the FT line and that's been consistent since his college days. three point shooting got better in NBA than in college and I think it could get better still. He has the size and athletic ability to be a good defender. Doesn't seem like he is slacking off on defense, maybe just needs more experience; he's only 21.
