JD Vance has talked and wrote in his book that his mother was drug addicted. He now is lying that her drugs were brought into the country by undocumented immigrants. After saying for decades and confirmed his mother was a nurse who stole prescription drugs from patients.
Donald is pissed. Everything going his way. Extreme Court grants absolute immunity. His bad debate overshadowed by Biden. Idiot takes pot shot and cult proclaims him hero, divinely protected, pundits laud new changed unifying Trump in face of all evidence. Judge/defense attorney throws out stolen documents case. Four day cult fest and everyone bends the knee. He was ready to order gold plated toilets for white house. Then after he locks in VP (had he known Harris would be nominee would probably have picked a woman) Biden outfoxed him. All pundits praise Biden's patriotic unselfish action. Moribund Democratic base ecstatic. Donations pour in. Harris totally owns news cycle.
I mean--if they had asked for the sandwich to somehow communicate an anti-abortion slogan, or asked Subway to cater a gay-bashing convention, I could see how this would be similar. But just refusing them service because they didn't like the shirts they were wearing seems like a different thing entirely.
They were wearing those shirts to get that exact response. She should have just ignored the shirts and served them.
As an employee of a franchise, I would agree with you. If I was the owner of the franchise however, I would have told them to go pound sand up their asses. But that's just me.
I understand her standing up for what she believes. I get being offended by those shirts. Maybe the worker is LGBTQ or had to have an abortion or knows someone or is related to some who did. That makes that even more tough. But, that doesn't even need to be the case to be offensive. Those guys wore those shirts purposely, and were looking to get that response, with their phones on the ready so they could have something to post. Don't give them what they want. Let them look like the idiots and assholes they are.
those shirts are very LMFAO sorry for party rocking early 2010s...it's kinda like a camp version of the westborough baptist church. "homo sex is sin" on a walking glowstick...my god. also she should've served them as punishment, have you guys had subway lately? worst sandwiches ever
But the Supreme Court said you don’t have to serve people you politically disagree with as an expression of your religion; it’s already law of the land now so why is this a big deal? It isn’t even hypocrisy!
Because the guys in the shirts made it a big deal. Exactly what they wanted. And, yes it's hypocritical.
Not in the least hypocritical. Wrong? Yes it was wrong, but it is also not hypocritical. The paradox of tolerance is at play here.
I suppose it goes both ways. People on the right refused to serve gay couples, etc who are just going about their lives. Those who were refused service filmed it and made a stink because it was wrong. They went to court, all the way to the SC. The court said the shop owners were free to refuse service based on personal beliefs. These guys come in wearing these shirts, not simply because it's their beliefs, but to be assholes. They get the response they want and film it. Maybe there is a paradox of tolerance but the gay couples etc were just trying to get a cake for their wedding, go about their lives. They weren't trying to start shit. They didn't have ill intentions. People like these dudes did and do.
