Just be nice to people and call them what they like to be called. It’s that simple. I was in a show with elf characters many years ago. I called them midgets. They said that hurts them and they prefer to be called little people. So I call them little people. What’s your problem? Yes, things change. It’s called progress.

If someone offends you, tell them. They’ll do the same

Yeah, the Grant elimination occurred to me.

You know an off-the-wall suggestion? Miami. They think they can rehabilitate problem stars (see Butler, Jimmy) and are in a perpetual win-now mode. But of course we didn't like any offers they made for Dame, and they haven't any better assets (other than Jaquez, which they wouldn't offer).

Lakers would be weird, given that they gave him up. SA is intriguing but I don't think them signing CP3 is a sign they think they can win now so much as that they want him in a mentoring role. Charlotte have Brandon Miller.

Chicago? But they probably want to offer Lavine, and then we have to involve a FOURTH team... Unless, one ex-Lakers-second-pick for another?

A star can be in league 15-17 years. Ayton and Ant are young for their level of talent. Mid 20s is young.

If we had actual logjams everywhere, we’d be contenders.

Isiah Thomas coached JO? I don’t remember that.

Not bad. But we'd need to get a couple picks from Chicago, including our own back.

I saw a blurb somewhere that GS was open to trading Kuminga rather than Podziemski for Lauri. If that fell through (and if it was even true) I would love to find a 3rd team to make that work for Grant. But it looks too difficult to complete.

That's the 2025 pick you see there. Otherwise Brooklyn would almost certainly prefer a straight up Ayton-for-Simmons trade.

I don't see them regarding Jerami and Markkanen in the same league...

Probably not, but they did inquire about Grant....right? The difference is that we would not require 4 picks coming back like Utah has.

Our own pick would need to come from Chicago, not New Orleans. But you do raise a valid point regarding Lavine's negative value vis-a-vis Simmons'. It's conceivable that the Nets would need to receive a pick to consent to a Lavine-for-Simmons deal.

Why wouldn't they prefer Kuminga to Grant?

    A Cam Thomas/Lavine backcourt would be...something

The only reason I can think of is he and Kerr have not had the best relationship.
