That's awesome. Games on almost every day of the week.
What I'm curious to know is if the Blazers are on Amazon for example, can Blazer Broadcasting also do the game here locally on our local affiliate? With the current TV deal, there isn't a local broadcast if the Blazers are on TNT or ABC. But there is if they are on ESPN.

Why no games on Sunday? Is the NBA letting religion seep into their scheduling?

It's just national games, and I imagine it's to not go up against the NFL. I wonder if we see a pivot in February.

Definitely because of the NFL. The NFL games dominate TV viewership/ratings. Nothing else even comes close.
In 2023, NFL games got 92 of the top 100 programs on TV for viewership #'s. College football got 3... so football in general got 95 of the top 100.

I'm guessing league pass blackout rules will still apply for national TV games?

If so, there is no point to LP anymore is there?

Still be able to see every other game, beyond what is on national TV, no? And if you're out of market, still get the Blazers

The press release seems to say LP will be under the Amazon umbrella. Gonna wait to see how this plays out, but if we start showing up on these national games more, LP is pointless, forcing us to subscribe to multiple platforms.

They had a chance to use streaming to widen the audience, instead it seems like they're just wringing every penny out of these deals. Should seen it coming.

You’ll still need Root Sports channel to view the Blazers games.

For this coming season. After that the deal is over and the Blazers will go elsewhere.

hmmm 76billion spread out to 350 million people would be what, 20 bucks a person?
@wizenheimer help me out here numbers guru.
If all major sports donated the total revenue for a year to the public, what would that net a person?
I don't know the tv contract or baseball contract values. Do you?
Curious if all of these multimillionaires(players and ceos) just gave up one year of salary, how much would the average person get?

hopefully the dont go anywhere, keep it on a local channel and they develop their own live-recordable stream of thier own in various packages. A single game, 10 game, half season, full season, etc.

About 220 per person. But the 76 isn't per season, it's spread out over a period of 11 years, I believe. So yeah, about 20 bucks a person. Even if the other 3 major sports had the same deal, it's less than $100 bucks a person.

If you don’t have league pass…..you’ll only be able to watch ONE game a night though.
