Agreed, they'd be much more exciting if they were done outside in the snow.

Great then my wife would force me to watch both gymnastics and Ice skating during the winter Olympics.

Hope you enjoyed the opening ceremonies since they have pulled them from the official Olympic website for my region.

Simone Biles killed it in the gymnastics qualifying - even after she tweaked her ankle.

One of the cool things about the Olympics is people watching sports they otherwise never see.

I don’t like the fact that you have to subscribe to Peacock to watch some of the Olympic events that are rarely on NBC.

It always amuses me that American publications always do the medal ranking by total number of medals, so the US is ALWAYS first, whereas the rest of the world always does it by number of Golds. Here's the BBC:

Ha, I remember years when the USA led in Gold medals but not in total medals and people questioned why the total medal count was featured in the publications. Not sure it matters either way.

I always felt it should be a point system--3 for gold, 2 for silver, 1 for bronze--and then ranked by total points. Basically in line with the total medal count ranking, but actually giving weight to victory. Maybe a 5-3-1 (or even 5-2-1) point assignment would be better?

My view is the Olympics are more individual than that but I could see that as a way to do a medal count if you felt it was necessary.
