<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Trading a softball diamond for a football field, the Baltimore Ravens beat four other NFL teams to take the crown at the second-annual NFL Softball Challenge in Philadelphia last Friday. It was a successful title defense, as the Ravens won the inaugural event, held in 2005 in Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium. Teams representing the front offices of the Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and the NFL league office all played in a bracket-style tournament, where the winners advanced and the losers were forced to play their way into the championship game."It was a fun day out here," said fan affinity coordinator Keith Weldon. "It's great to win the championship, but I would rather win a Super Bowl this year instead."Weldon led a star-studded lineup that included director of premium services and suites Theresa Abato, ticket operations and distribution coordinator T.J. a'Becket, media traffic and business development operations manager Dana Blankenbiller, corporate account executive Paige Boyle, and hospitality manager Mike Burke, event and guest services manager John Cline, controller Jim Coller, director of broadcasting administration Don DiRaddo, fan development manager Brad Downs, senior network administrator Nick Fusee, public relations assistant Patrick Gleason, advertising and research coordinator Andi Goodwin, corporate sales coordinator Kate Kaiser, senior accountant Reba Koppelman, ticket operations manager Adam Mazalewski, new media manager Mike Preston, director of security Darren Sanders, stadium operations manager Jobie Waldt, and mascot coordinator Brandon Williams. The squad started out the day versus the Steelers, whom the Ravens quickly dispatched. Mazalewski hit a home-run blast, while Sanders and Koppelman each came up with big RBI hits, as well. The second contest was against the home Eagles. Compelled by their owner, Jeffrey Lurie, at shortstop and cheerleaders on the sideline, the Eagles took to the diamond ready to win.The Ravens went up 6-3 by the fourth inning, but the Eagles would not stay down. The black-jerseyed Philadelphia team hit single after single to send in three runs and go into a tied sixth inning. But the Ravens defense held strong in their final stand, and then relied on the bats of Weldon and Cline to score the game-clinching run."We had a great team this year," said coach Baker Koppelman, the Ravens' senior director of ticket sales and operations. "Not only are they having fun, but they're also serious about winning." The Ravens would definitely have to get serious against the NFL league office team, which was the championship draw. It was a high-scoring affair that saw the Ravens down 7-5 in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the purple-and-black fought back. Preston slapped a double to left center, Coller hit an RBI single to knock Preston in, and DiRaddo tied it up with his following RBI.In the fifth inning, Reba Koppelman caught the league office's outfield sleeping and knocked in two runs with a booming triple, and then tagged up on a sacrifice fly to make the score 11-9.After the final out, the bench cleared for an on-field celebration."We had a lot of players that really came through in the clutch," said Baker Koppelman, citing Weldon, Mazalewski and Reba Koppelman, among others. "Whether it was a big hit or a big catch, someone was always there to step up."The large golden trophy is now residing in the lobby of Ravens headquarters in Owings Mills, Md., a few feet from a silver trophy named for Vince Lombardi. As Weldon said, hopefully the upcoming season will bring another one of those, as well.</div>YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

So they should enjoy their "fame" now.

It won't a 16-0 season, probably a 10-6 or 11-5. But we shouldn't talk smack here, it's not the smack board.

Lets make a thread and see what the board thinks. Check it out.
