‘She Became a Black Person!’ Trump Spars With Moderator Over Whether Or Not Republicans Should Call Harris a ‘DEI Hire’ Donald Trump sparred with ABC News reporter Rachel Scott over whether Vice President Kamala Harris was a “DEI hire” during a Black journalists conference. The former president spoke at the National Association of Black Journalists annual convention in Chicago where he questioned if Harris was Black, adding “someone should look into that.” Trump said he was not aware Harris was Black until a few years ago because she only promoted her Indian heritage, but then claimed she “happened to turn black.” Trump also went after Scott for her “very hostile, nasty tone” at the start of the panel discussion, which also included Semafor political reporter Kadia Goba and Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner. SCOTT: Some of your own supporters, including Republicans on Capitol Hill, have labeled Vice President Kamala Harris, who was the first black and Asian American woman to serve as vice president on a major party ticket as a DEI hire. Is that acceptable language to you? And will you tell those Republicans and those supporters to stop it? TRUMP: How do you how do you define DEI? Go ahead. SCOTT: Diversity, equity, inclusion. TRUMP: Okay. Yeah. Go ahead. Is that what your definition is? SCOTT: That is… TRUMP: Give me a definition. Would you give me a definition? Give me a definition. SCOTT: Sir I’m asking you a question. TRUMP: You have to define it. Define it for me. SCOTT: I just defined it, sir. Do you believe that Vice President Kamala Harris is only on the ticket because she is a black woman? TRUMP: Well, I can say I think it’s maybe a little bit different. So, I’ve known her for a long time. Indirectly. Not directly, very much. And she was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn black. And now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black? SCOTT: She has always identified as a Black woman — TRUMP: I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t because she was Indian all the way. And then all of a sudden she made a turn and she became a Black person. SCOTT: Just to be clear, sir — TRUMP: I think somebody should look into that too. When you continue in a very hostile, nasty tone. https://www.mediaite.com/tv/she-bec...ot-republicans-should-call-harris-a-dei-hire/
Jesse Watters says men who support Kamala Harris have “mommy issues” Watters: “I heard the scientists say the other day that when a man votes for a woman, he actually transitions into a woman”
I like how the "just because she's a woman" part of that quote is conveniently ignored. I mean, the guy's a stereotypical toxic male, but we shouldn't be afraid to be accurate in our excoriation.
I've been to Wyoming a few times. Was there just two years ago. Someone saw my ID too and said they rarely get Oregon folk through the state, kinda sounded like it was a dream for that person to move to the west coast. Personally, I thought Wyoming and Nebraska were two of the worst states we traveled through. Boston, New York, Utah, Iowa, and Pennsylvania were much better.
This pretty much says all we need to know about Trumps level of intelligence.
The one thing I know people love about Wyoming is the hunting. Is that why you love it? I know ya'll have some pretty badass fireworks too. I've also visited Cody.
Some of my funniest and most interesting experiences in Wyoming have been along I80. But it is so freakin' different than the rest of the state, that's for sure. Probably why it was so memorable.....
On one hand, I agree that our civil liberties are eroded with the response to every crisis. You've got something there. And, serious question: "digital ID and digital currency" doesn't really sound like a dastardly plan to me. What's the big deal? On the other hand, this process does not need a grand conspiracy to accomplish. The accelerated rate of crisis and overblown reaction to them are simply a part of the political and social enshittification that prolonged life in a modern capitalist industrial society has caused. A combination of boom-bust markets, pay-for-play politics, and frayed social ties cause economic, political, and social distress. Any of these distresses can cause a crisis: a market crash, a blowhard dumbass fascist gaining widespread popular support, a school shooting, a plague, etc. And each time the response is to do whatever it takes to return to 'normalcy', i.e. maintaining economic productivity. The hive of scum and villainy that run the world aren't causing these events, but they certainly have them predicted with their best statistical models and have figured out how to maintain their accelerating profits through each one. Maximize profits and minimize loss. Curtailing civil rights is good for business.
Back in ~2012 we drove down I90 from Montana to I25 and stayed with friends in Kaycee on a sheep ranch for a week. Absolutely beautiful out there. Then we went to a rodeo in Casper which was cool but we were incredibly out of place lol
Year, 1985-/+ Driving east on a business trip. Not sure about Wyoming, but, back then, the Montana freeway daylight speeding ticket was only a $5 conservation fine. Payable to the LEO that stopped you. No matter how fast you were going. Anyway, heading east in Wyomimg. About 100 yards ahead of my car, and 100' off of the ground. A missile flew across the freeway. Later, figured out it was a cruise missile test.
