    Yes, I understand.
Are you saying we should use body fat% as the defining tool? Or part of? If using only body fat as a all in guide, how do you define? Overall? Body fat percentage in the chest and hip areas?

Bodies come in many many different builds. Meaning one person can have the same amount of body dat but its primarily in the gut and another can have most of their body fat in their hips/legs.
What is your criteria to make such a decision to allow or not allow one to compete?

USA Boxing, which is the only boxing organization any American patriot should be paying attention to:

“We have seen in reports misleading information about two female athletes competing at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The two athletes have been competing in international boxing competitions for many years in the women’s category, including the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, International Boxing Association (IBA) World Championships and IBA-sanctioned tournaments.

These two athletes were the victims of a sudden and arbitrary decision by the IBA. Towards the end of the IBA World Championships in 2023, they were suddenly disqualified without any due process.”

The IOC banned IBA in 2019. USA Boxing officially withdrew its membership from IBA in 2023.

Fun fact: IBA is owned by Russian gas company Gazprom.

More fun facts: The arbitrary decision to ban her was made after she beat a Russian in competition.

No. I think assigned female at birth should be the criteria. Unless you want to ask the female athletes in the sport what testing they want to be subjected to. I would support whatever science based means testing they agree to by something like 75%.

But otherwise my opinion is that those assigned female at birth should be allowed to compete in the female division.

Nobody at any point said anything about there being only two testosterone levels. Not sure how that even became a point. However the level that is allowed for women compete in athletics is pretty standard. Below 10nmol/L
Now if the female can prove that she is resistant to androgen and does not have a competitive advantage there are situation that it can be higher.
Most men between 20-30 sit around 30-35 nmol/L
This boxers levels are Considered to be at a normal mans levels and she has no form of resistance that can be proven.

Pretty sure there is cause for at least an inquiry into what has happened. My feelings on this matter is it's too bad that we are sitting here dissecting this person at all. IMO someone should have kept this from happening in the first place. Nothing good is coming from it.

    Gotcha

This does lead to a bit of confusion though, as there is a sect of people who say that how we are labeled at birth may not be who we/they really are.
That sexual organs and chromosomes dont make a man or a woman, but rather how they feel inside?

but now for the Olympics its back to how you were born or labeled what you were at birth?

    Very confusing…

its unfortunate that all humans cant just be comfortable with who they are, as is.

I think people should identify however they feel most comfortable. This has nothing to do with sports competitions.

Sports classifications shouldn't consider our personal feelings, choices, opinions, or identities. They are there to ensure a competitive environment. In the case of women's sports it is very easily established that moderately athletic men in their prime are far more athletic than worldclass biological female athletes. This is not really debatable. Junior varsity high School boys put up numbers competitive with women's world records every year.

If we want women's sports we can't allow personal opinions or feelings to have any impact on classifications for eligibility to compete in women's divisions. It's as simple as that.

As I posted about above. A smoking, drinking, male tennis player who didn't have much of a training regimen and was ranked outside the top 200 players dominated Venus and Serena Williams in their primes, defeating them 6-1 and 6-2 respectively, back to back.

My personal feelings, choices, or Identity aren't considered in classifying me in any mens sports. They shouldn't be considered in women's sports either. Only natural born women should be allowed to compete in women's divisions. Everyone else should be encouraged to compete in the highest open (mens) division they can compete in, with the top one being the highest division.

If the women who are competing have other science based tests they overwhelmingly want to require I think women's sports divisions should be able to institute those policies. But they should poll the contestants to make sure an overwhelming majority want to be subjected to that testing.

I actually think the Olympics and world championships would be great opportunities to set worldwide guidelines based on the votes of world class women competitors and that other leagues and divisions should be able to deflect any potential lawsuit or disagreement to these world class bodies as long as they are determined to be following the accepted policy.

So the US Olympic committee would set the policy protections for the US, and they could be responsible for making sure the guidelines meet worldwide standards.

This seems like a worthwhile endeavor to remove these kinds of debates. It needs to be crystal clear who can compete in women's divisions, and that isn't currently the case. Which is a disservice to everyone and is good for nobody.

I remember when Martina Navitrivola came on the scene and poeple gasped because she was ripped and and a chisled torso with a muscled neck...everyone was always accusing her of juicing but she was just an incrdible athlete. They used to whisper about her gender as well. People seem to sometimees have a hard time dealing with woman who could kick their ass.

When Brittney Griner missed first Olympics for which she was eligible due to injury whisper was she wouldn't undergo gender test because she is really a man. Height, deep voice. She had spent her entire life in gyms and locker rooms with girls and women but none noticed she wasn't really a woman!

    She is.

There are some people where it's hard to tell if they are male or female, but he isn't one. In addition, all signs point to him having a condition similar to Caster Semenya, the track athlete who has internal testicles and xy chromosomes, but completes as a woman in track and breaks female world records.

Show this picture to any 5 year old and ask them of it's a man or a woman.

Imho it got nothing to do with this poor human being. They are just using her to have big discussion. In next few years there will be 'category open' in sports, where man and woman can compete. And next thing will be half man/half robot and same discussion we are having here. Should robots compete? Does one artificial hand makes man a robot or maybe artificial heart.

This shows, that we have cyborgs on the way to our society.
    Robots don't have gender.

"Furthermore, societal acceptance of augmented individuals poses another layer of complexity. Prejudices and biases against those who choose or need to enhance themselves could lead to discrimination and social fragmentation. Promoting inclusivity and fostering a culture of understanding and acceptance will be vital in mitigating these risks."

I also find it hilarious that "libs of tiktok" is our smoking gun proof.

For a group that runs around saying everything is fake news, it sure does show the hypocrisy whenever they find something that fits their narrative.

More fun facts: The arbitrary decision to ban her was made after she beat a Russian in competition.

    ...

Every person has the right to practise sport without discrimination.

All athletes participating in the boxing tournament of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 comply with the competition’s eligibility and entry regulations, as well as all applicable medical regulations set by the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit (PBU) (please find all applicable rules here). As with previous Olympic boxing competitions, the gender and age of the athletes are based on their passport.

These rules also applied during the qualification period, including the boxing tournaments of the 2023 European Games, Asian Games, Pan American Games and Pacific Games, the ad hoc 2023 African qualifying tournament in Dakar (SEN) and two world qualifying tournaments held in Busto Arsizio (ITA) and Bangkok (THA) in 2024, which involved a total of 1,471 different boxers from 172 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the Boxing Refugee Team and Individual Neutral Athletes, and featured over 2,000 qualification bouts.

The PBU used the Tokyo 2020 boxing rules as a baseline to develop its regulations for Paris 2024. This was to minimise the impact on athletes’ preparations and guarantee consistency between Olympic Games. These Tokyo 2020 rules were based on the post-Rio 2016 rules, which were in place before the suspension of the boxing International Federation by the IOC in 2019 and the subsequent withdrawal of its recognition in 2023.

We have seen in reports misleading information about two female athletes competing at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Towards the end of the IBA World Championships in 2023, they were suddenly disqualified without any due process.

According to the IBA minutes available on their website, this decision was initially taken solely by the IBA Secretary General and CEO. The IBA Board only ratified it afterwards and only subsequently requested that a procedure to follow in similar cases in the future be established and reflected in the IBA Regulations. The minutes also say that the IBA should “establish a clear procedure on gender testing”.

The current aggression against these two athletes is based entirely on this arbitrary decision, which was taken without any proper procedure – especially considering that these athletes had been competing in top-level competition for many years.

Such an approach is contrary to good governance.

Eligibility rules should not be changed during ongoing competition, and any rule change must follow appropriate processes and should be based on scientific evidence.

The IOC is committed to protecting the human rights of all athletes participating in the Olympic Games as per the Olympic Charter, the IOC Code of Ethics and the IOC Strategic Framework on Human Rights. The IOC is saddened by the abuse that the two athletes are currently receiving.

The IBA’s recognition was withdrawn by the IOC in 2023 following its suspension in 2019. The withdrawal of recognition was confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). See the IOC’s statement following the ruling.

The IOC has made it clear that it needs National Boxing Federations to reach a consensus around a new International Federation in order for boxing to be included on the sports programme of the Olympic Games LA28.
