So, for example, De'Aaron Fox, who was 11th leaguewide amongst PG's in DBPM last year, was good from the jump? He wasn't in the bottom 15 of all qualified NBA players in DBPM as a rookie? The premise that someone must be decent defensively at age 19 to ever be serviceable is completely unsupportable.
Here is how I know now your just spiting out stuff without even knowing facts, just to try and make a point that doesn't make sense and hate on Ant. You said he had to play with Simons a lot of the time he played last season...Do you know how many games Sharpe actually played with Ant last season? Because I do, and this statement clearly shows you don't lol.
lol, who the heck uses DBPM to make a point. and no he is not that good of a defender one on one or in the post....he is good at getting steals to inflate those dumb DBPM stats...... Here is some scoops on your DBPM stats. Guys who are not impactful on this side but their boxscore is impressive always are favored (like Drummond) Boogie was 5th in the league in DBPM at one point some years ago... The big knock on DBPM is it's a box score stat. You can defend a player amazingly, force a shot clock violation or a terrible shot, and receive no credit. Or you can defend a player like shit, slap a loose hand out there and get lucky, and walk away with a huge boost to your DBPM. Next.....
I definitely meant to say Simons and Grant. I included Grant in the next paragraph. Once again, when you have "me first" players hogging the ball everybody else gets worse looks.
True, but neither are "me first" players. Saying it over and over will not make it so. Grant shot a lot when on bad teams. He did not shoot a lot when he was on good teams. Can you not see how that correlates? If either is shooting too much that is because the coach is asking them too. I remember when BRoy was uneasy about how many shots he was taking. He kept asking his teammates and the coaches if he was. They said to keep shooting. Was BRoy a "me first" player? Maybe for some, he was, but they would be wrong too.
lol, what a nice way to backtrack.....and secondly, your following statement makes no sense, 'And Simons tends to subtract from his teammates rather than make them better'. He only played 13 games with Sharpe last season. And to further your other silly comments, you said you mentioned Grant, well then explain why Sharpe stats were better last season when he played with Grant just as much? It doesn't make sense...Stop pulling your eyes over certain guys on our team and their huge faults, mainly Scoot and Sharpe while hating on Ant without making sense most the time. Bro, you have clearly been exposed here as someone who is just tunnel vision and will pull out anything to try to slam home a point, all in the end while not making any sense.
Grant also subtracts from the efficiency of his teammates. I understand you have a hardon for me, and I appreciate it, I really do. But you aren't doing yourself any favors.
Lol, you sound more and more delusional at this point. Nice try, nope it's not you doing yourself any favors posting 24/7 on this board every week about the same silliness, while making little to no sense. The ones with the biggest mouths make the least bit of sense most the time, and that fits you to a T. Shows how much you don't actually know in general, but as I said last week, I'm sure reading through these threads I'll come across another one of your pointless hating comments.
I'm hating on him because I said he's bad at defense? Or that Scoot and Sharp tend to play less well with him on the court? Are these statements false? They seem to be pretty universally accepted as true statements. I've never said one negative thing about Simons that was untrue. I have no feeling about him one way or the other. He's just shown enough that he's not worth building around. And I don't believe that he'll be interested in coming off the bench. In fact, I don't think it would be in the Blazer's best interest to have him coming off the bench. We'd be far better off trading him for the best draft capital we can get.
