Here is some scoops on your DBPM stats. Guys who are not impactful on this side but their boxscore is impressive always are favored (like Drummond) Boogie was 5th in the league in DBPM at one point some years ago... The big knock on DBPM is it's a box score stat. You can defend a player amazingly, force a shot clock violation or a terrible shot, and receive no credit. Or you can defend a player like shit, slap a loose hand out there and get lucky, and walk away with a huge boost to your DBPM. Next.....

True, but neither are "me first" players. Saying it over and over will not make it so. Grant shot a lot when on bad teams. He did not shoot a lot when he was on good teams. Can you not see how that correlates? If either is shooting too much that is because the coach is asking them too. I remember when BRoy was uneasy about how many shots he was taking. He kept asking his teammates and the coaches if he was. They said to keep shooting. Was BRoy a "me first" player? Maybe for some, he was, but they would be wrong too.

I'm hating on him because I said he's bad at defense? Or that Scoot and Sharp tend to play less well with him on the court? Are these statements false? They seem to be pretty universally accepted as true statements. I've never said one negative thing about Simons that was untrue. I have no feeling about him one way or the other. He's just shown enough that he's not worth building around. And I don't believe that he'll be interested in coming off the bench. In fact, I don't think it would be in the Blazer's best interest to have him coming off the bench. We'd be far better off trading him for the best draft capital we can get.
