Don't buy it for a second. He'll find the opportunity to grift and make some cash off it.

Can't see it. Trump never loses! He has over 70 election deniers in election administration now already refusing to certify any election. Strategy is to refuse to certify citing so called fraud. Either get House of Representatives or Extreme Court to decide. With another January 6 mob ready.

This isn't the first time Vance went after an American veteran. He viciously attacked retired General Barry McCaffrey due to McCaffrey supporting aid to Ukraine. Said McCaffrey, who directly led combat unit in Desert Storm and has three purple hearts, two silver stars among others, of spending his career in air conditioned offices (what Vance did). Also smeared him by suggesting without evidence McCaffrey would financially benefit from Ukraine war.

Vance voted against increasing military pay and increasing veterans benefits.

Tim Walz, allowed his state to burn while he fiddled on the roof like Nero, has extreme leftist views, and is also a liar. He's constantly lied about his military career, and not in small ways, but complete fabrications.
Yet will anyone who proclaims to be so concerned about Trump's supposed lies care?

Apparently, this picture is the one that veteran's groups are all up in arms about.

    upload_2024-8-8_8-3-25.jpeg

When Tim Walz was capaigning for Kerry in 2004, he held up a sign that said "Enduring Freedom Veterans for Kerry". Though he was called up during OEF, he was called in a support role to Italy and never served in Afghanistan. Apparently, there is a specific "Global War on Terror" medal that is awarded to all veterans of 11 different operations including OEF, and Walz's service doesn't qualify him for that medal. Thus, he is not actually considered an OEF veteran.

I have no military background, so I don't really know anything about how significant that is, but people are apparently alleging that identifying himself as an Enduring Freedom Veteran is tantamount to stolen valor. Not sure if this 20-year-old picture should be considered more or less bad than his 30-year-old DUI conviction, but I figured we could at least put the details out here for consumption/discussion.

Bottom line, he served in the National Guard for 24 years. Period. How many years did YOU serve in the military? How many years did Donald Bonespurs serve in the military? And J.D. Vance (or anyone else) calling himself a "combat veterans" is about as accurate as Walz calling himself OEF. So who is the bigger liar? Jeezus but you dimwits flail and struggle and bark at the moon. But what the hell, it entertains the shit outta rest of us.

Yeah, I think it's a shitty thing to go after. Walz and Vance both served their country for 24 years and 4 years respectively. I don't care if they saw live action, trained soldiers, or sat in an office fucking a couch and writing articles about their unit. This whole finger pointing thing about military careers is stupid 3rd grade shit.

I have heard enough bull shit!

There is a huge difference between a soldier that is based near his home. And gets to play with his wife and kids . While eating bbq and drinking beer. VS a soldier stationed thousands of miles from his home and family, for months at a time in a high tension enviroment, while living on bad food.

As far as the definition of combat. With rockets and drones, anyone wearing a uniform is a combat target.

Near or inside a military base. The priority #1 target is the brass sitting on couches.

Wow, so now I'm a "combat vet". Who knew??? I guess even at 70 years old it's not too late to update my resume. And here I thought I was just bobbin' along a hostile coast without anyone ever shooting at me. And those National Guard folks are apparently just posers and soldier wannabes and always have been. So I gotta agree, I too have heard enough bullshit. Military service is service to this country, no matter where you serve and no matter what the circumstance are. By serving in the military, you support this country, regardless of what your actual job might be. It should be a requirement for entering politics. And it is disgusting just how few of our country's elected representatives have actually served in the military. Shame on you and J.D. fucking Vance for denigrating Tim Walz's service.

I guess my mother, who served in the Navy during World War II and was later a member of Jewish War Veterans of America, wasn't a real combat vet because the US didn't send women into direct combat then.

I'm pretty sure Walz was assigned in other countries at times during his 24 years. I'm positive I heard he was in Italy for a time when it was used as a staging area.

And the NG does a lot beyond that that isn't being alone with the wife and kids. They get called in to help when there are national disasters or to serve as security with highly important government activities or to stabilize areas during times of civil unrest. Walz's own unit was sent to Iraq a couple of months after he retired.

Yes, both Walz and Vance served overseas. Neither saw combat time as far as I know.

Yes, Walz retired months before his unit was deployed. He retired to begin his political career. They are trying to make it seem like his unit got notice of deployment and he said nah, I'm retiring and abandoned them. That's not how it happened. A guy in his unit who is voting for Trump even verified this.

This is just some stupid shit and if it's all they have, they are in trouble.

There is a huge difference between being stationed in Italy, and Iraq.

A group of sport ocean fisherman I ran with, decided to take Iraq vets fishing, all expenses covered by us.

My Iraq vet was a captain, just home a short time. He was a nervous wreck the entire fishing trip. Every little noise made him tense up. My impression was, he had not slept well in a very long time.
