Then I guess I am even more confused than ever about just what it is parents on the Right actually want. They want to ban books that they themselves deem "inappropriate". They want to take a draconian hand in the public education of their children (if they even want public education at all). They are proud to do away with Child Labor laws. They have no problem arming children of all ages (See Kyle Rittenhouse). They'd rather let school kids go hungry than use their taxes to feed them. The list just goes on and on. But now parents have NO say in their child's mental, emotional and physical wellbeing????? The "state" gets to be the parent??? Talk about trying to have it both ways. I understand your position, and respect it. For many people, including myself. Neither option is acceptable. So the choice becomes one of issues that are the most important to each individual. Not trying to figure which candidates are the least evil. Based on the results of Tuesdays elections. One issue that appears to be important is crime. Candidates that backed defunding the police, and being soft on crime, did not do well. Not sure if this trend will carry over into the pres election results?
Only because too many people either misunderstood what "defunding the police" actually meant, or they twisted for their own political purposes. Anyone with common sense who makes an actual effort to parse out what was actually meant by the term originally realizes it isn't quite the "issue" some are bending over backward to make it into.
That is another instance of a corrupt system forcing the population to accept policy that is proven ineffective, more expensive, and downright harmful even though less expensive policy that has been proven effective is available.
