The FBI is weaponizing the FARA act against Americans who are speaking/writing in opposition to the war in Ukraine. They recently raided the home of former weapons inspector Scott Ritter (someone they've hated for awhile, for blowing the whistle on the WMDs in Iraq). The used the same law against the African People's Socialist party.

If you oppose a war, they can claim you're acting as an agent for that government, and if you haven't declared yourself as such, you're in violation of the FARA act.

The Federal government has unlimited resources to prosecute people and the folks have to pay a fortune to defend themselves. And there's no prize for being found innocent. So the prosecution itself is a weapon.
They do everything they can to skate around the 1st amendment, and openly lament it in interviews.

Arrests and conviction for sex offenses
Ritter was the subject of two law enforcement sting operations in 2001.[44] He was charged in June 2001 with trying to set up a meeting with an undercover police officer posing as a 16-year-old girl.[45][46] He was charged with a misdemeanor crime of "attempted endangerment of the welfare of a child". The charge was dismissed and the record was sealed after he completed six months of pre-trial probation.[46][6]

Ritter was arrested again in November 2009[47] over communications with a police decoy he met on an Internet chat site. Police said that he exposed himself, via a web camera, after the officer repeatedly identified himself as a 15-year-old girl.[5]

The next month, Ritter waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was released on $25,000 unsecured bail. Charges included "unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communications facility, corruption of minors, indecent exposure, possessing instruments of crime, criminal attempt and criminal solicitation".[2] Ritter rejected a plea bargain and was found guilty of all but the criminal attempt count in a courtroom in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, on April 14, 2011.[5][48]

In October 2011, Ritter received a sentence of one and a half to five and a half years in prison.[3] He was sent to Laurel Highlands state prison in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, in March 2012 and paroled in September 2014.[4][8][6]

Car park masturbation, Delmar Fire department
In the early 2000s, Ritter and his wife Marina joined Delmar’s volunteer Fire Department. Ritter became one of its most active members, and was eventually selected as an assistant chief. According to court testimony, by 2004 when Ritter stopped attending therapy, he had made an almost daily habit of trying to meet women from chat rooms, in cars or out-of-the-way places, so they could watch him masturbate. Ritter has blamed this behavior on his ongoing depression.

In 2009, when Ritter's sexual offenses with a minor became public, he lost the only regular job he had had in recent years, writing analyses on world events for a private energy firm, and was reported to be heavily in debt. Also at this time, Ritter was also removed from active duties in the Delmar Fire department, something he described as “one of the most profound disappointments I have experienced.”[5]

    Passport seizure
In June 2024, US authorities seized Ritter's passport and prevented him from visiting Russia.[11][12] According to Ritter, three U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents stopped him as he was about to board a flight to Istanbul on his way to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.[12] Ritter said that the agents never showed him a warrant and never gave him a receipt for the seized passport.[62] Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “details” about the situation were not clear, and that restricting the travel of former intelligence agents "is practiced in almost all countries in relation to former intelligence officers". Peskov added that if Ritter was removed from the flight to stop him speaking in Russia, then it was part of a “frenzied campaign to prevent U.S. citizens from establishing at least some contacts with Russia".[11]

Rather than talk about the topic at hand you Google Scott Ritter and post unrelated dirt on him. And he's not the only one referenced in the post.

I voted for Democrats 8 years, ago, until they started supporting crap like this.

I used to be a huge fan of Air America Radio, hated the Bush regime. But got disenchanted with the Democrats after Obama didn't differ much from the Neocons on key positions. I think if the Democrats from circa 2003 got together with the "right" of today and started exchanging notes they wouldn't recognize that they wouldn't see themselves as blood rivals, but mostly in agreement.

The Neocons hoodwinked conservatives into supporting their crap, now the same thing is being done to the left.

I never talked much about that stuff. But I don't discount it. The emails did seem like they were using veiled language. $65,000 in "hot dogs" for a party attended by 65 people. Talking about how kids are going to be in the hot tub and will be entertainment?

Even if the elite are no more sexually deviant than the rest of the population, they feel is though they can get away with acting on it (because they largely do). If you look at the lies and corruption surrounding these people, and the number of their associates that die mysterious deaths, it becomes clear that they are not who they portray themselves to be publicly.

Why do the elite think this is artsy-fartsy goodness? It does make one wonder.

I love how weirdos throw around the word "elites" and somehow they don't mean billionaires - mostly they mean "people who seem Jewish" or "people who look like they go to the Opera." Did George Bush Sr. start this? Mind boggling that he was trying to portray himself as a man of the people, but even more mind-boggling that it seems to work on the crazies.

What did you like about the Democrats and why didn't you like the Republicans? Let me guess, the Republicans had too many non-real estate moguls on their ticket?

I hated the Bush regimes war in iraq, the spying programs, torture programs and I strongly suspect either he or Cheney had foreknowledge of 9-11. I liked the Democrats being more in favor of environmental protection as well...it's just gone over the edge these days.

This thread just reads like an uninformed person trying to defend an actual real-life pedophile. Neat.
