Discussed. Team US# are veterans who have spent years playing professionally. Adding a high profile rookie means leaving out deserving player and she would get outsized attention but minimal playing time. Team USA made that mistake before. Clark and Reese along with others in rookie class will get their turn.

It's a missed opportunity for Women's basketball in my opinion. You strike while the iron is hot.

So...is the wild stat that it only took 213 assists to reach that mark?

It's like Professional Women's basketball is in it's infancy or something?

It does seem pretty crazy. As of 2021, a little over 1000 women have played in the WNBA. Which means her 213 assists so far this season would put her in the top 250 all time?!
    But found this

Sure but centers don't get a lot of assists.

On every team there is only one starting center. There is 4 other positions and two of them are guards. It seems wild that to this point 26 games would cover such a number. She will undoubtedly surpass them all very soon.
The league is in it's infancy to be honest. It seems to me the WNBA has found it's Oscar Robertson or John Havlicek. She will set a standard that will be very tough to break.

Neither of them ever even practiced with Team USA. They were too busy making deep runs in the NCAA tourney.

I'm sure they'll be there next Olympics.

WNBA about to get back in action.
Caitlin Clark at least enjoyed her time off. Soaked up the sun on vacation in Mexico with boyfriend. After returning attended country music concert and invited into stage. Then went to Yankees Stadium, invited into broadcast booth and met favorite player Aaron Judge, who gave her a pair of his game spikes.
