Who do you guys think will turn out to be a better NFL WR. I say Jackson, just because he's going to have Brady throw it to him for a good 5 more years. Brady makes everyone around him better, look at Deion Branch. Also Holmes will be in a jail before this year is over.
Probably Jackson. I dont know about Holmes, if he can buckle down, stay out of jail and focus on football he could be better...but I think Jackson will be since Holmes appears to be troubled.
Holmes isn't what I thought he was going to be for the Steelers, he is going to end up being a total bust. I feel that Jackson is going to have a great career as a wide reciever, and soon will emerge to be the #1 when he really breaks out. He will be a star in the NFL before we know it, Holmes will never be more than an inmate or a slot reciever.
Gimme Jackson here, I just honestly feel that he will be one of the top WR in the league for a long time; while Holmes is just a #2 type of WR.
Santonio Holmes might be the better player, but with Brady, Jackson will have a great career. He's extremely fast, can jump high, and he will catch accurate throws.
If you're going to make the case that Brady will be the factor that makes Jackson the better of the 2, why can't it be ROETHLISBERGER that makes Holmes the better of the two? Can't say enough about the guy, look at his rookie record, and he's the youngest QB to win a SB...

The rookie record and SB win doesnt mean anything. Orton had a good record last year but did he have a big contribution to it? No.
Brady is the second youngest. lolBrady is also the best QB... and as much as I like Ben, he is overrated on message boards a little. He barely throws, so he doesn't get INTs. Makes him look so accurate. If you ask any WR which team they would want to be on, they would say the Patriots.
When Ben does throw though he does a great job with where he puts the ball, I know he doesn't toss as many around as the average QB because of their type of offense, but for the amount that he does throw he does a great job. I guess I agree that any WR would wanna be on a team that is more balanced or throws more because they have the opportunity to make more of an impact and get more grabs. Chances are Jackson will end the season with a lot more receptions because of this, so I agree with you.

I called him overrated also and they all jumped on me.
For the situation he is in, like you said their heavy run offense, he manages everything almost perfectly. How can you call him over rated? The Broncos have a heavy run offense but Jake Plummer doesn't handle it as well, even having Rod Smith, Ashlie Lelie and Jeb Putzier as targets last year. For the opportunities that Ben does get to throw, he never screws up and usually makes a play. You just can't call him over rated.

He only throws like 12 times a game and thats mostly off PA. He has a huge advantage over any QB in the league. Jake Plummer was nick-named "no mistake Jake" because he didnt throw INT's for a while. 18/7 for the year. Bottom line is Big Ben still isnt with the Elite QB's in the league. Cowher promised that he'll throw more so this year we'll see if he can really get it done.
In the 26 regular season games he has played, he has thrown the ball an average of 21.7 times per game... that's almost double the "12" that you are talking about. Big difference.
And thats why they're not alike. Because Ben doesnt throw the ball a lot like the other big name qb's. More attempts and he still managed to get less INT's. Ben isnt the perfect QB you're talking about. He gets praised a lot for this and I feel he's overrated. He's no way near the top of the QB list. In a few years he probably will.
So you are saying that he cannot be considered a top QB in the league because he throws the ball 10 less times a game then most top QBs do?It is not HIS FAULT that the Steelers run their offense the way that they do, he is doing his best to cope with it and has done a great job, that's all I'm saying. He is a great QB.

He didnt have a marvelous season last year. You cant call someone great when they havent even passed the 20 td mark. He hasnt even been a pro-bowler yet and you're calling him great because he won a SB mainly because of the running game and Blitzburgh defense. Please, In that case lets call some guy great when he onlys come on the field for 1 play and throws a TD. Ben is on his way up but is not Elite yet.
