Copy and pasted from the footy thread on the main page…… The Girl’s sophomore season kicked off last night against # 2 Stanford. Lost 1-0, but easily could have been 20-0!!! Definitely a different level of soccer with that Stanford team. They have a few TEAM USA players and you could tell. My daughter got to go up against all American and future Olympian Elise Evans….saw my kid battling with her out there was pretty fucking cool!
Yo! Two weeks in after an ass whooopin’ from Cal, the kids record is 2-2. She knew when she signed there, that USF has never been a dominating program. Finish third one year finish eighth the next fourth one year six the next. There was one bright spot from tonight’s game, maybe her best goal ever? A Golazo free kick from 40 yards out.!!!
She’s just fine. Coach stepped down this offseason. New coach. Teams struggling playing a real tough schedule so far. I think he’s trying everything possible to turn things around. INCLUDING sitting quite a few of their better players including her for some random reason. She seems to be fine. Captains pulled her aside to make sure she’s good and she seems to be. Me and the wife are a mess though. This is tough. Never gone thru this with her. She’s always been the star of the team. She’ll get thru it and so will we, HA! One thing is, we never talk to her about this stuff…..lets her get thru it and handle it with her teammates. She knows we’re here for her.
I prepped her going into college that ALL of her teammates were the stars of their club/HS teams…..I think I need to remind myself of that.
