I'll ask the question again. How are we supposed to take the border issue as a serious issue in deciding the presidential election? Earlier this year, a bipartisan bill was initially agreed to that gave the Republicans almost everything that they want on the border issue. It could be law of the land by now, but Trump wanted the border bogeyman to use as campaign fodder and instructed his minions to scuttle the thing. I think it's a demonstrated fact that both sides of the aisle want to reduce illegal immigration. In the Republican case...it's just not until they're through using it to try to win the election.

You either don’t know how omnibus bills work or you are being purposely dishonest. Those bills made concessions about the border yes, but were also chock full of deal-breaker items the Democrats slipped in. Both sides do this. You cannot actually sit here and pretend it was simply a “border bill”. Both parties do this purposely to create gridlock. Like i said, you either genuinely did not know this or you are being dishonest on purpose.

This dude and his friend who rocked a racist name for months......I'm done. I don't bring much to the OT section, because I'm not an expert in politics....but I consider myself an expert in people. @SlyPokerDog I can't be associated with all this hate and ugliness. It honestly terrifies me that there are people like this walking around in today's world. This literally is the only place in my daily life that I absorb or intake any of this shit........I think I'm done with the politics over here simply because of these two.

Hope it's worth it giving them the ability to share their patriotism.

Eagerly awaiting a well thought out educated responses from both. Good luck to you fighting the fight.

Every bill has crap added that one side wants and the other side doesn't. That's politics. It was widely reported that the Republicans were on board with the bill up until the point that Trump declared it "weak"...meaning he didn't want a deal made. You either have been living in a cave and somehow didn't know this or are being purposely disingenuous.

Trump isn’t the president and has no power. Many establishment republicans don’t even like him. Your theory holds no weight.

Trump holds huge power. His DIL currently controls the purse strings of the RNC. Any Republican currently in a reelection contest has to Kiss the Ring.

Trump gets personal with fellow Republican candidates and brings up their families and tries to humiliate them (Cruz, Kemp, Rubio) and they still turn around and blow the guy off.

At a certain point, any sort of support for "free speech" in private communities (i.e., those with no governmental association, where "free speech" has no bearing at all) just becomes a permission slip for hate speech. I can only think the mod staff either knows who they are and can't ban, or the mod staff supports and endorses what they're saying. Because there's simply no point in keeping these users on the forum otherwise. It's fucking baffling to me.
