Volpe screws up ANOTHER routine DP and our rookie pitcher can’t pitch thru any adversity. 4-1 cards in the third. Most overrated gg shortstop I’ve ever seen. Makes a million errors and gets away with a lot that should be errors
I don’t care what the standings say. This team will fail in the playoffs again. Too much garbage in the pen. The starters and frankly the lineup are too up and down. Lost two to Washington and now a crap performance at home against St. Louis. The bullpen “help” Cashman got like Leiter are complete garbage.
Stanton just misses tying the game with a grand slam and Verdugo weakly grounds out so they go to the ninth down 6-5.
Yanx' poor defense exposes them once again. Cards first win in NY in 60 years. I remember as a youngster listening to game 7 on the radio in '64...the Cards beat the Yanx in the deciding game...I was devastated.
