This girl I know from school had their parents buy a HD-DVD player ($500??? Isn't that the price of a 360 with HD DVD). I went over to see Serenity since it's the most tech filled movie she had (that or Phantom of the Opera). I gotta say next gen movies is extremely impressive. The effects were mind-blowing. The 5.1 surround sound is 50x better, clearer, and crisper than 5.1 DVD surround sound that I have. It literally is a movie theatre compressed into a 15x15 room.My sister's roommate is getting the new Samsung Blu-ray player coming out tomorrow since they just moved into a new house (they're apparantly getting a BRAVIA screen). I'm going over to their house as soon as they get settled to check out Blu-ray's technology. I'm assuming it'll be close but better (slightly? a lot?) than HD-DVD. Blu-ray can display the best graphics known to man right now so I'm excited.I'm loving this next generation entertainment shit. Now I need to go rob a bank so I can afford all the upgrades the entertainment room in my house will need. :ninja: [IMG] I'm definately getting a PS3 so I'm basically decided on supporting Blu-ray but HDDVD delivers the goods I gotta say.Which side are you guys taking?

Blu-ray movies are slightly better. It's hard to tell but if you compare both side by side, it'd a slight difference, hardly noticiable unless you look closely.I'm hoping Blu-ray will win the next generation war.http://www.engadget.com/2005/09/19/blu-ray...ion-s-division/Tells you all the information you need if you plan on taking a side.

These are both relatively old technologies from an existance point of view. Now what isn't being released is whats worth getting excited about.
