Stotts had a record breaking tenure as the head coach with the most seasons coaching the same team without winning a game in the conference finals. A new voice was needed. You continuing to associate Stotts being gone with missing the playoffs is just disingenuous. Since Stotts left the roster has been torn down completely with only Ant remaining. We are in a rebuild since trading Dame. I hate it that Olshey got to fire Stotts because Olshey should have lost his job first but both guys had their jobs for far too long given the middling results they produced.

I don't miss Stotts, I certainly don't miss Neil but I do miss Dame a lot.

We've already established that you don't understand probabilities.

I mean you ran through traffic that one time and didn't get run over. You should probably just make that a part of your daily routine.

Its also been established you don't have to jaywalk. You can cross at the crosswalk and have damn near the same odds ,as has been said and shown in various posts.
Just agree to disagree and maybe stop trying to convince others you have the only logical stance?
It really does get old. Move on. Allow others their opinion of things once i ma while without going on and on about how they are wrong and illogical?
Its kind of insulting to hear how illogical everyone is compared to you….

Not everyone believes tanking is the only way to win and not everyone thinks we should tank until we have a generational talent. Accept diversity. Accept others opinions without demeaning them maybe?

No. This is false. That's the point. You don't have the same odds drafting later.

That is factually wrong. This not an opinion. It is a statement of fact. You are 100% wrong about that.

You don't get to live in a different world in which your feelings make something nore or less likely. You don't get your own personal truth.

If you lose more you have better odds of adding more talent to your team. It really is as simple as that.

    I haven't demeaned anybody. I stated a fact.

Yes, the odds are a fact as far as percentages. But percentages do not always equate reality. The fact is not every team that has won a championship has done it through the lottery. The fact is you refuse to acknowledge this that has been said many times. The fact is you will not let anybody else have their own opinion of how they would prefer to rebuild without Telling them they are wrong. The fact is this gets very annoying.

Once again. You ran across traffic that one time without dying.

You're arguing that since you didn't die you should do it every morning. After all,
I'm the one arguing that we should have patience and take the crosswalk. I'm telling you what you are proposing is more likely to fail than what I'm suggesting. And I'm even posting videos to help people understand probabilities. We've literally posted the statistics.

You don't want to believe that so you are claiming I'm demeaning you. Which I'm not.

You are arguing that we ignore statistics and data and just run across the street because it's more fun and you remember it worked before.

In games of chance if you play the probabilities you will win more often. That's why counting cards is not allowed a casinos.

sigh… what you are failing to understand is there are many people who would prefer to play the lesser odds in favor of not completely depleting the wallet. Not everyone wants to go all in and still not be assured a championship, when “all in” does assure years and years of sucking if you don't win the lottery.

Same in real life. My odds are better if i buy 100 lottery tickets instead of 10. But I'm not gonna empty my wallet for 100 and still possibly not win and then be completely broke with nothing left.

Some prefer the lesser chance but still maintaining a floor of acceptability, Vs hitting rock bottom and possibly staying there for years and years.
But the annoying and yes, demeaning part is you saying those who think like this instead of like you, are illogical.
It is perfectly logical from a certain viewpoint and your inability to accept anything other than your own words as logical is the annoying and demeaning part of it.

Before Stotts the Blazers had 12 years of not winning a single playoff series. Stotts won four series. Stotts won a series when LMA left for nothing, leading to 4 of 5 starters departing, and the team was projected to finish with 28 wins. Stotts has half of the Blazers playoff series wins over the prior 32 years (since 1992). The other non-Stotts 4 Blazers series wins were the 1999-00 group.

The failure of the Stotts rosters to win conference finals games was not at all on Stotts - It was entirely on rosters with lack of talent. Jake Laymen started 33 games for the Blazers WCF team. Evan Turner played 1600 minutes and was out of the league the next season.

4 years since Stotts and the Blazers haven't played a playoff game, with none likely anytime in the next few years ahead either.

No. Again. That's false. All in doesn't assure years and years of sucking if you don't win the lottery.

And no. Comparing this to the actual lottery isn't even close to an apt comparison. This shows that you have no real concept of the reality of the the situation.

There is no chance for you to ever get a 25% chance of winning anything in the lottery. Or a 14% chance. You get a roughly 25% chance of drafting an all star in the NBA draft lottery. A 14% chance of an all NBA player in the top half of the lottery at the NBA draft.

You WILL draft more talent by drafting high multiple times than if you draft low multiple times. That is a virtual certainty.

You still have to get good coaching and management. But you will have more talent.

And nobody in the league respected us losing in the first or second round every year. We were laughing stock for that bullshit.

No problem. So next time I dismiss one of your uneducated posts as uneducated and silly you can remember back to this and you'll know why I don't take the time to go there with you.

i will remember this and how you took the time to go there and still cant handle other people thinking differently than you.
You should do something about that. Just a suggestion.

But hey. At least im getting a laugh!

    Anyhowww,

This season is more exciting to me than most because there are so many unknowns.
We can be a lottery team or a playin team. And if our youth pops over the season and we are a playin team, end the tank. Continue the internal growth.

Somewhat excited to see how the front line develops. Also, curious to see if Shae continues to grow and if he's developed a mean streak and/or an edge to his game.
