    There is a legitimate argument against the Fire given how much destruction wildfires cause around here.

    Kinda like the idea of the Rip City Roses

    Several people in the reddit thread were also on board with the Valkyries (which it has now been brought to my attention has since been claimed by the Bay Area).

    They should go away from things that emphasize the "rains all the time" reputation (or similar).

    Rose buds would be cool but OmG PoT! would probably get joked about a bit.

    Portland Rose, would be cool tho. With a single rose as the logo.

    As far as I could find, there are two futball teams with that name. But both are from cities in something called Scotland (?) which leads me to believe they're fake names...I mean, seriously who names a country after Scott Thomason??

    I think Portland Fire is really good. It was already established before the wildfire problems in the Portland area, and it goes well with the Blazers.

    It'll be interesting to see what the community feedback is.
