Bro, they need to use the Submarine at OMSI somehow. Like a party deck on top to watch the game. Or use it to transport people across the river from the parking lot.

That's why my question wasn't if it would be possible, but if it would be "too much".

IMO, it would only make sense if the city felt that widening that bridge and connecting it to the freeways served the local interest independent of the stadium. The RI probably gets the most backed up of any non-freeway bridge in town. Also, being as it's part of a national highway, it might be possible to get some federal funds for such a project.

Makes no sense at that location, unless they are doing something with the bridge. You could cram it in but then you have a shitty bridge smashed up on the backside. The whole idea that they need the Redtail site as well for development is super weird.

Cram it in? It's in a bigger location than Oracle park..

Oracle doesn’t have buildings directly to the north or an old raised bridge directly south. So yes, it will be crammed between those. Plus the land between the RI and Tillikum is not bigger than Oracle Parks property.

How deep do they need to dig for this project? I assume not as much as they would if they were building a high-rise apartment building.

That area of the Willamette was key in the development of Stump Town. When the ships couldn't navigate past Ross Island (steel hulls) that when they started clearing for Portland Town. Until then Oregon City was the shipping hub along with Milwaukie.

Like I said, it would fit but be crammed in between the 2 bridges.

100%. They said the key to getting the deal done at Zidell was getting the Redtail property so they could do a massive real estate development there.

I think the play is to say that they tried and failed to get a team after a few years and then just sell or develop the land at a profit.
