The fact that he thinks her touching him would give him the right to do something to her says a lot about him.
I thought I told it here before. My neighbor is an old church softball teammate of mine. He got an acre of ground adjacent to mine in a divorce settlement and gradually got more and more antagonist about ... something. I was getting ready to leave for work one afternoon and was walking near the corner when he came out and started questioning me about what I was doing there. Within a minute he was acting like this guy. He was trashing me about how I mowed my lawn, telling me he and his girlfriend talked about me and thought I was strange, telling me he didn't like me because I didn't say hi to him when I went on my daily runs, and a bunch of other stuff for the next 15 minutes. He went back and forth between a maniacal smile/laugh like this guy and even at one point literally growling like a dog. I just stood there and answered him like a normal person and didn't change my demeanor. I didn't back down either. He also said the obligatory "I'm not someone you want to mess with, trust me." It was pretty surreal. Finally, he freaked out and said I thought I was better than him because he voted for Trump. We hadn't even talked about politics before anywhere. I told him my problem with him wasn't about who he voted for -- I even put his Trump signs back when they kept blowing onto my property -- but I thought his being a gossip was a bad look and that I hoped whatever was really troubling him got better because no one acted like this over how someone mows their own lawn. He finally stormed off saying that maybe it's better if we didn't talk.
No. I'd just bathed. Seriously, he did try to get into my personal space multiple times. I don't think he would have wanted to make this too physical. I'm a little bigger than him, younger than him and I take care of myself physically and healthwise. He doesn't, and he lost a couple of fingers on the job a few years ago. But I know he concealed carries, so I suspect he might have game cams looking down on my property and might have been trying to provoke me to hit him so he could shoot me and say it was self-defense.
Oh, as weird as that was, I just remembered the weirdest thing he did. He kept smiling and asking me where I worked and how I got my property. That's where the gossip thing came from. He seemed to think he had some gotcha moment but I've lived on this property for 50 years and semi-retired from a publicly-known job six years ago to work freelance and become an adjunct college professor. It was the weirdest thing. It seemed like he thought he was going to get me hot under the cover but he didn't deserve to know my life so I didn't tell him. I don't know. Maybe he was jealous. He'd also been drinking when he came out to do this. He's lost a couple of pets to me -- a black Lab and a kitten that both would come over to my house whenever they got out of his and even when I took them back to him they kept coming back to my house the first chance they got. His son broke into my house once, too.
I vaguely remember reading something about this on here before. The couple of times I’ve ever been in a situation like that I just acted like I was nuttier than the other person and they backed down. I’m actually really mild mannered and avoid drama but if I felt for me and my families safety I could be a lunatic. I feel like intimidation was this guys thing. He’s probably a bully that thrives off thinking he had you spooked. How did you become a Blazer fan living in Pennsylvania for 50 years? You go to high school with Schonz? lol jk
The first game I ever saw on television was Portland and the Knicks. It must have been Walton's rookie year to get them the game of the week. Walt Frazier became my favorite player but the Blazers became my favorite team.
