Was super busy yesterday and just saw the FEVER got the boot. Fun watching them this season. It will be interesting to watch the ratings absolutely plummet. Pumped for us to get a team!

They have only proposed a deal on the land. We don't actually have a baseball team yet.

Irrelevant to someone who never watches.

That said, playoff format is ridiculous.

Indiana should be much better next year. They had a terrible start that dragged down their record. After a year they will have learned to play together.

No he’s saying there’s no one worth watching again….. and unfortunately the numbers will overwhelming show this. If the league in ESPN were smart, they’d fix these numbers so it doesn’t look like that!

I don't know, Sabrina had a much better game than any CCs playoff games. That was a great watch.

I think there's a massive difference between having "no one that pulls ratings" and having "no one worth watching". You seem to be suggesting that the viewing public is actually intelligent and informed enough to know who in the WNBA is actually a good watch. Let me give you a hint--they aren't. Most of the people who tuned in to watch the Fever have no idea that there are several players in the league that are better and more dynamic (at present) than Clark, and that's a shame.

Racists and homophobes pretending to be fans of women's basketball. Connecticut player who poked Clark in the eye, which both players acknowledge was accidental, has been besieged with death and rape threats. Still trying to portray Clark as fragile white woman, which is so contradictory to her actual self. And no she is not persecuted for being straight and white. She has been honored and celebrated, justly. Connecticut was the better team.

Seriously I'm not saying you are wrong at all but that is way way deep. I really don't think many actually give it that much thought? When i watch the fingernail thing i went straight to "Wow maybe long fingernails should be looked at?". I'm also questioning the "Racists and Homophobes" thing saying they are "Pretending" to be fans? Maybe I'm very "Nieve" "Naive" (however you spell the darn word)? I just was thinking the lady had brought along a great following? I guess many of those people could be hoping to see her fail? Some might put energy into that? I certainly would not put effort into that kind of endeavor.
One thing is for certain. The entire league is getting less coverage at this point on both the networks and social media. Of that I can assure you. IMO that is where the problem might exist.

    Naive is correct spelling.
Yes, Clark brought a great following. She needs no conspiracies. Unfortunately there are those who want her to be great white hope in a majority black league. There are other white stars but many like Taurasi are also lesbians. Clark is sweet girl next door if you live in a white neighborhood. So if she gets banged up and basketball is a physical game, a section of fans see her as fragile white womanhood. Absurd since she is anything but fragile. And that there must be a conspiracy to keep her off Olympic team because she is white and straight, not because team doesn't include rookies.
This isn't something she wants. She just wants to play basketball.
Anyone who threatens a player with rape and murder isn't a fan. They are a racist scumbag.

Women's basketball is just freaking tough. My daughters are face guarded full court the same way CC is. They have bruises all over their bodies.

It's just a tough game. I think Caitlin Clark brought in new fans and those fans just don't realize how physical the game is.

I think Caitlin's type of in game response to the physicality and on court antics trying to flop and draw cheap fouls leads the fans who don't know better to believe that she is being unfairly targeted. I don't appreciate that behavior of any player. But a lot of skilled players do it.

She's not being unfairly targeted. That's how you guard a player who can cut up your defense. You get the ball out of their hands.

So I interpret this as telling me that there are a bunch of people who started watching the WNBA because of Clark, and most of them stopped watching after her elimination, but many others continued watching because they've now become interested in the league as a whole, leading to the highest semifinal ratings in decades. Not surprising that Fox News would choose to focus on the reduction than the residual.

I took as they need to clone Caitlin. Every team gets one!

But you are right, the WNBA is moving in an amazing direction!

NY already has one in Sabrina. Hopefully people are waking up to that.
