Oh, heck, I have a whole file of photos I saved of right-wingers burning or hanging effigies of Obama. I guess those don't count for ... reasons ....
But honestly, based on the losers he has working for him, Trump is by far the closest President we've ever had to Hitler. Seriously, White Supremacists feel they have a voice in the Trump administration. Neo-Nazis feel they have a voice in a Trump administration.
If you look at history and how the Nazis came to power in Germany, the comparison isn't all that hyperbolic at all. Basically, they got enough support to form part of a coalition government, which paved the way for ruling by emergency decree to be declared, which led to Hindenburg appointing Hitler as chancellor. Then the Nazis one by one changes laws or took advantage of vague laws to solidify minority rule and systematically eliminated any competition or dissenters.
A small silver lining for me: it’s really heartening that so many people here are alarmed by what’s happening… in 2016 it was a way different story trying to convince people things were going wrong in a specific way. I’m glad y’all see it now.
