there will only be one G5 team in the playoffs: the highest rated conference winner and neither OSU or WSU are eligible for that berth. OSU has not beaten any team with a winning record. The 3 FBS teams they beat have a combined 5-10 record. The Beavers still have to beat UNLV (4-1), San Jose St. (4-1) and WSU in Corvallis; and they have to beat Cal and Boise St. on the road. I think they will probably lose both of those road games OSU would have to get in thru one of the 7 at large bids. Right now, there are 5 undefeated teams in the Big-10, and 3 more teams with one loss. At minimum, the Big-10 and the SEC will take 4 of those at large bids; maybe 5. The ACC and Big-12 will likely get 1 or 2 at large berths. Notre Dame has a moderately easy schedule until their season final with USC (and they have beaten #15 Louisville). A 10-2 Notre Dame will get in over an 11-1 OSU. A 2 loss OSU has no chance and I'm skeptical they can run the table
Last weekend proved ANYTHING can happen in college football. And, if the Beavers win out they have a great chance, currently 72%, of making the college football playoffs. Also, a one loss Beavers (against a highly ranked Duck team) vs a two loss ND, with one of those losses being what is one of the most embarrassing losses in modern college history, you would have to take the Beavers.
The playoff simulator shows there can be a WSU vs ND match up. So OSU and ND could both be in the playoffs.
Sure.... an upset that hasn't happened in 40 years is a great example of what's gonna happen with OSU and Boise State.
After we take out ohio st next week, we will be number one snd ride that right through to a national championship!!!!
