LB Al Wilson said, "We had a lot of pressure on the quarterback, though. But statistically, no, we didn't get enough sacks." DL Gerard Warren added, "I don't think we got there enough last year. But teams pretty much mixed it up on us and threw the ball a lot once we started shutting down the run. So we kind of played some different schemes, but this year I think we're going to open it up and cut the guys loose up front." Head coach Mike Shanahan said the team will still blitz, but maybe not as much as the 2005 season.</div>

Pressure is more important then a sack, Pressure leads to interceptions. Pressure leads to bad throws. Not to mention that pressure can get into to head of a Quarterback if you can get it often enough. Sacks are nice, but id rather have my team pressureing the QB into throwing interceptions.

Well even if they are working for more sacks, if they get them its good because there is a loss of yards which is ALWAYS good and will usually lead to a risky pass play to regain the yards. In the process of attempting a sack, the team is still pressuring the Quarterback, so even if they don't get there for it the QB is still undergoing some kind of hesitation to get away and risk comes into play. Works out both ways for the Broncos.
