Your right - Wichita State, yes that could make sense if it can be part of a larger agreement to get some of Memphis/Tulane/UTSA/Texas State/etc. The travel for football isn't a huge deal with these conference changes as your only talking about a few games a year. But all the other sports with many more games in a season have a bigger travel issues. I really wanted UNLV but sounds like that ship has sailed. Also I love Hawaii as a football only school. Yeah I don't know what the Cal/Stanford agreements with the ACC have as costs to terminate and suspect they would not explore that. But the ACC has a lot of lawsuits with FSU/Clemson possibly leaving and other discussions of big changes going on. So regardless of what is already in a contract there might be a good chance it could be modified or there is some sort of settlement which allows Cal/Stanford to eventually go elsewhere. Just sounds like nothing will happen with that in time for 2026. Longer term the Pac should and probably is leaving a door open for those schools to come back if such an opportunity comes up.
This isn’t bad…..don’t want anybody EAST of this. I hate when conferences are not regional like they used to be. Hate the division the Blazers are in even MORE.
Your Beavs took it to my daughter and her team last night…..lost 2-0…..could have been 10-0. Great seeing her play back close to home though. My first ever game in broadcasting was on this field 25 years ago. Amazing night!
Seems like it would have to be Memphis and at least 1-3 other schools from that region, right? Can't think they want to travel so much on their own.
