    GAME NOTES
    • Patty Mills was drafted by the Blazers with the 55th pick in the 2009 draft. He played with Portland from 2009-11
    • Drew Eubanks played for the Blazers during the 2022-23 season.
    • Svi Mykhailiuk was part of the four team deal that sent Josh Hart to New York for Cam Reddish and the 23rd pick in the 2023 draft which became Kris Murray
    • In the last decade the Blazers have played the Jazz 12 times in the preseason. The Blazers are 7-5 in those games.
    • This will mark the third year in a row the Blazers and Jazz will meet each other in the preseason. The Jazz are 2-0 in that span.

Very odd that the Jazz play 6 preseason games and we play 4. Seems most teams play 5 but there are others playing 4 or 6.

For a team like us the preseason is actually kind of important, as we will be tanking at the end of the year and have the entire postseason off. Preseason is worthless for Celtics type contending teams that play months into the postseason and have to pace themselves over the 82 games.

How the hell did the jazz finagle their way into 6 pre-season games? Same with the Warriors.

Why isn't there a consistent # of games played across the league? Orlando is only playing 3, some teams are playing 4, some 5 and two of them will play 6. Wtf?

oooh, one of the games was cancelled for the magic, dur.

I find this starting lineup intriguing with Deni playing essentially at shooting guard. Not much 3pt shooting except for Grant but a lot of size. Camara will have to hit some open 3s for it to work.

I think Billups (and most coaches) prefer an extra practice day over an extra exhibition game.

I corrected my comment about the magic, but it doesn't change the meat of the post. Turd face.

it's too simplistic but it almost seems the NBA has evolved to 3 positions: PG-Wings-C. And often, another bigger wing replaces the C

I would rephrase it slightly as primary ball handler, wings, and stretch 4's.

It’s bizarre. I remember when every team would play 8 preseason games. Jordan would take them seriously. I remember Bulls going 8-0 one season.

Jordan was a machine and went all out for basically 82 games plus as you say practice and preseason where he dominated for 11 years in Chicago.

LeBron has managed his body much more, taken time off, and coasted at times. But he's entering his 22nd season - nearly double what Jordan did in Chicago.

Jordan was a shell of himself in Washington and had persistent knee issues for an irrelevant lottery team. Meanwhile in those same age 38/39 season LeBron was All-NBA both years, in the WCF the first and losing in the playoffs to the defending champs the next.

I rank Jordan ahead of LeBron all time as he was better at his peak - but Jordan's approach wasn't a good way for a player to manage their career.
