He’s lanky and can handle the rock like a guard.

Why do you just find stuff to just trip about? Lmao. To be fair, I was going off my eye as well. He stands about as tall as Bron, Luka, PG and some of the guys that size if not taller.

    upload_2024-7-14_15-57-58.jpeg

I was off by a quarter inch. My bad dude. He was already 6’7.5 barefoot in a pre-draft Euroleague measurement https://eurospects.com/player/deni-avdija/. Rupert doesn’t have an official 6’8 barefoot measurement either, I assumed everyone noticed the growth spurt and wrote probably. My bad for forgetting to put the probably in there for those special few.

That would be absolutely insane. In a season like two seasons ago, had that happened and the ping pong balls played out the way it did, we would’ve traded Ant for nothing because we jumped to #3 and they slipped to #5.

I don’t like that one bit.

Blazers are a lock for a 2025 top 3 lotto. Who will be worse? It’s all up to ping pong balls.

Well sure that's one possibility. There's also the possibility we end up with pick #8 and Detroit #1 then with a swap we would've traded Simons for Flagg which is a gold mine.

Its all about the right amount of risk vs reward.

Blazers had a top3 record this last year and ended up with pick #7. So literally half the lottery had better picks.

A swap next year could be a goldmine.

First round picks/swaps are going to be VERY tough to come by in this draft.

Good grief. Nothing I wrote warranted such a response. I just asked for a link to your source as I'd tried to look up a more recent verified height for Deni and struck out. I even thanked you for doing so in advance. Instead you provide a screen shot from some random basketball gossip site on Twitter with no context of where they're pulling this supposed measurement from and repeatedly insult me. The Rupert non-sequitur was complete wtf? Whats especially LMAO! is your crap X site screen shot is at odds with the link to the actual measurement you relayed. It claims he's grown 1.25" taller while his wingspan has shrunk 0.5"

Regardless, this is the second time you've invented reasons to be offended when none were written or intended. Seems like... well nevermind, not worth it

....no, it is not too soon. I'm already watching Bailey, Harper and Flagg highlights or games when I can catch them. I've said it before, this team is in definite need of a 'The Guy' type of personality.

Scoot, Sharpe, Clingon, Tou, Ant....none of those guys fit that mold. I'm not sure who that is in next years Draft, but they need to find him. I don't see much of a leader type on this roster yet. There is some talent that you hope will grow and gel, but not seeing that alpha dog mentality that every winning team needs.

    https://nbadraftroom.com/2025-nba-mock-draft/ .....has:
    1. Cooper Flagg - 6'9" PF - seems like that, would smack down his grandma to get a win type.
    2. Air 'Ace' Bailey - 6'9" SF - one of the most elite bucket getters at an early stage I've every seen.
    3. Dylan Harper - 6'5" SG - incredible bball IQ. Reminds me of a little bit bigger, stronger Jalen Brunson.

There is not a player currently projected to go in the first round that is under 6'4" until pick number 24. That seems unheard of. Great size coming out of this coming year.

I might make a trip or two down to New Brunswick to catch Bailey in person.

Scenario: Blazers end up with the #3 pick, according to most mocks, the top players after Ace and Flagg are PGs.

Do they reach for someone, or draft a replacement for Scoot?

No reach. Harper, Edgecombe, and Traore would all be viable options at 3. Traore is the only one that would be a "replacement for Scoot", and if he's the best option, you absolutely take him. If Scoot hasn't shown himself by this summer not to be another Markelle Fultz or Killian Hayes, then he doesn't factor into the decision-making process at all.

Edgecombe is the only one to have played against senior national teams (and to look like the best player on a team with Ayton and Buddy Hield) (OK, so Flagg did play that unofficial game against the US National team, yes, but not any official ones.)

Marang, who works with the team, has repeatedly said Deni is 6-9.

It's the team's job to justify overpaying 2 #1s plus Brogdon. He looks 6-7, now that heights are barefoot.
