What did the Heat actually offer? It sounds like they didn't even offer unprotected picks and wanted to steal Dame for pennies on the dollar. Regardless if the Heat emptied everything they could (which I doubt they did) - the Bucks deal was clearly better IMO.

Now what the Blazers did with the Bucks players is the questionable part. Could we have got a better return for Jrue from the Heat? Sounds like the Blazers were steadfast in not talking with the Heat due to bad blood. While it would've been better to not be emotional and take the most assets regardless of which franchise offered it.

Then the Blazers holding on to all of Brogdon and Timelord into the season was the questionable part. Those players made no sense for the Blazers rebuilding, as well as having a 3rd PG when we already had Scoot/Ant. We should have used the leverage we had against Boston to get those players to a 3rd team.

Jrue had massive trade value as he fit a role with virtually every contending team in the league. That was a much better bargaining position than when we were shopping Dame who had a trade demand to a single team. Dame didn't fit on most contenders rosters since he is a short ball dominant bad defender.

    Dame already doesn’t like Statues.
Now this will cement that FOREVER!

Sounds as if Nurkic can still not maintain a consistently good game:

"This was another ride on the roller-coaster that is Jusuf Nurkic when he is struggling, to the point where the ride feels like it’s never going to end and the mistakes compound themselves. Whether it was mishandling the ball, missing shots around the rim or getting called for offensive fouls, it was legitimately remarkable how many impactful negative plays he made in such a short time. Nurkic exited at -18 following his first shift, and while he certainly played bad in that 6:44, it didn’t feel like he was the primary culprit for all of that.

But when Nurkic checked back in for the second quarter across a 3:08 stretch, you could feel the momentum of the game changing again when he screwed up. Long-time readers will remember us here coining the term “Bender Groans,” a moment in which former top-five pick Dragan Bender would mess up and the crowd would respond in an admittedly awkward way. Deandre Ayton reached this status late in his tenure, and it took lots of growing pains for Bender to arrive there too. Nurkic’s last goof, a post-up attempt he lost control of, inspired Suns fans to let a lot of those out.

'He understands what it is and you never want the weight when you play bad,' Booker said of Nurkic. 'He’s a competitor, so he’s gonna come in and he’s gonna play better and we’re gonna rally behind him.'

Nurkic did start the second half but was taken out in a little over five minutes. He wouldn’t check back in until the end of the game for rebounding. Head coach Mike Budenholzer attributed some of that to how well backup Mason Plumlee was playing. He provided good rim protection in his best overall game of the season."

It's almost comical how Mason Plumlee is always in the conversation when Nurkic is bad, broken or beat.

Damn, feels like it was just a few years ago we were trading a pick for the young 2nd year player Mason Plumlee. That was after LMA left.

    Plumlee is now 34!

Jokic is amazing. He has a legit argument of being surrounded with worse teammates than Dame. Take Jokic off that roster and its at the bottom of the west with us and the Jazz.

They overspent on Porter and Murray, leaving them with limited options financially.
