If it's Scoot, Clingan, Sharpe, Camara, etc youth leading us to wins I'm 100% for it.

If it's the "big 3" of Ayton Grant Ant making 90 million I hate the idea of them getting us pointless wins.

It's early in the season, but with all the forwards the Blazer have that are younger and play harder than Grant, To me it's hard to justify his minutes.

Grant was clearly bad in the last game, yet our Mr Billups played Grant more minutes (34)

than Rupert, Walker, and Kris Murray COMBINED (33).

    That is thoroughly depressing.

In Sharpe’s rookie year, when we were determined to lose, we sat him because he was playing too well. If we are competing for top 3 lotto position and Scoot and Sharpe are helping us win, we will sit them.

A few games is one thing. Totally different than keeping Grant and Simons all season. That ruins our draft potential and costs Sharpe and Scoot dozens of valuable developmental opportunities.

No I was just saying that I’ll only stop rooting for wins if management wants to lose so badly that they sit Scoot & Shaedon.

And I'm just saying that would be a silly decision unless it's the last week or two of the season.

Just old enough and not good enough to be able to hurt us but not help us.

Sure, but hes in his 7th year, players very rarely significantly improve after that. More often they decline. We've seen little improvement from Simons the last 3 years.

Also 25 is not as young as you'd think (it's very young to all of us in careers that go to 70+) In the NBA players peak is usually about age 26 and then they start to decline. Small decline until age 30 and then much steeper. Sure there's a Steph or LeBron that play to mid 30s or 40 but those are 1 out of 100 players.

For me the reason to not be high on Simons is more a skillet and contract element than age though. Players in that role are easy to acquire. He will be on an expiring contract next year than need a ton of the salary cap to keep after that. Scoot and him are not an ideal pairing.

Disagree. It's nuts that they haven't already been traded.

I don't know what's in Cronin's head. It sure sounded like he was trying to trade Grant this summer. But if the team hovers around .500 is he going to be like "Oh goodie, we can make the play in!"

This is the same mistake Olshey made. Everyone expected us to be terrible with the bargin bin roster he constructed, and we ended up being about .500, so he just stuck with that core forever.
