Previous regime indexed too heavily on shooting and not enough on size. I fear the current regime is indexing too heavily on the latter and not enough on the former.

This is what I mean about the Blazers not having to try to tank. It'll come naturally. We're getting beat by the Pelicans' second and third units with Brandon Ingram. We just are too inexperienced and lack the shooters to play with anyone half decent, so you can go play with what you have and try to get better and the losses will take care of themselves.

Ayton's in his Nurk Era -- one good game, one meh game, two bad games.

    Scoot ... blech.

Rupert and Camara looking very good.

I like when we play the pace we did during that run in the first part of the second quarter. Just push it and let the guys' instincts and athletic ability take care of the rest.

10 shot for 6 points , or you could say 12 shots for 6 points if you include free-throw attempts (1/2 attempt per FT).
    OR
    4 shot for 6 points.

By the way, how the hell does Grant lead the team in shot attempts (and minutes, tied)?

Definition of a chucker. Billups the Enabler.

The Blazers have Banton, Murray and Rupert that could take Grant's minutes when he's playing like a turd. Even Minaya if he's available.

Is Jabari completely out of the rotation? Did he do something wrong or is it just the improvement of all our second-year forwards?

    More learning…..

When the Blazers play hard defense and get out and run they are better than running Chauncey’s “offense”

Grant needs his 40 minutes a game, and Rupert has outplayed Jabari for those 8 mins.

Probably the improvement of the second-year forwards?

Toumani is, by far, the best player on this team. I mean, who saw that coming?

It's genuinely baffling to me how many turnovers Scoot gets on simple handoffs, whether he's the passer or receiver. What???

Another former Blazer to compare Avdija to: Evan Turner. Avdija has better form missing his shots but the result is the same.

This has to be a game they win. Scoot will be a bust if he can’t develop a consistent shot and three pointer. In my opinion at this point in time he is a one trick pony.

Edey had his first really good game tonight so Donovan's going to be under the microscope with all these quick fouls. Got to say that if he was an established player I don't think they'd call most of them on him.

Chauncey is about to play Toumani the entire 2nd half.

If Clingans man it out at the 3-point line setting a pick and Clingan is still in the key.. that's not going to be a good thing for the Blazers.

The other thing about not tanking is the Blazers coaches aren't trying really hard to win. The gameplan's are so vanilla.

Ayton's not a rim protector. He's really good at switching out or double-teaming to short circuit high screens up top, though. But he's been in drop all but a couple of times tonight.

Clingan is more of a drop guy, but there are situations he should be coming away from the basket and he's not.

To me, those are signs they're just doing things really, really simple and that will result in a lot of losses. Not sure if that happens tonight, but much more often than not.
