It’s not about Bernie Bro being scorned. It’s about letting the Democratic process play out as it’s intended.

Fuck with that process and you’ll turn off even more supporters.

The Presidential race isn’t supposed to be about the warm and fuzzies.

I VOTED TO SAVE MY OWN LIFE NOT BECAUSE OF THE MOTHER FUCKING WARM AND FUZZIES.

I’m sorry Kamala “turned you off.” I will haunt you all when I’m dead.

I don't think anybody is suggesting anybody should have voted for anybody other than Harris. Just the process that gave us Harris or Biden didn't give us the best candidate.

You understand that not voting for one is equivalent to voting for the other yes?

You know how a seesaw works right? No weight on one side is the same as the equivalent weight added to the other side? Right?

People DEFINITELY suggested not voting AND are telling me this outcome is deserved, in this thread today, hiding behind “not voting for Trump” like there’s any practical difference.

Sorry Trump is going to turn off the Do Not Haunt list as part of Project 2025 so you’re fucked.

I meant anybody that you're replying to in this specific conversation in this thread. I think it's just a conversation on what we could potentially do differently to get more engagement. Or what mistakes were made.

I'm depressed as hell about this result. But the Bernie BS definitely cost the Dems a lot of support.

Their insistence on relying almost solely on fear of Trump as their strategy the last 3 presidential elections has also been a disaster.

I agree that they shouldn't have to do much to beat Trump. It should almost be a default. But that clearly isn't the way things are.

I'm not sure they insisted on it so much as were forced into it.
It's impossible to ignore Trump, and if you can't ignore him, you have to point out that everything he is and does and says is awful.
And that makes the conversation all about Trump, which of course works for him.
It's not like the Democrats didn't have policy proposals, they did. But that gets drowned out by the Trump noise machine screaming about EATING THE DOGS!

Dem policy proposals were not very compelling to enough people... They could have done much better. They should have done much better.

But I've been saying that for freaking ever.

I supported Kamala. Out of spite of Trump.

Not enough people felt the same way. I blame the candidate. Another candidate could and should have beat Trump.

Lesson learned. You can’t mess around with the democratic process and expect good results.

I supported Beto in 2020. But the people spoke. And the party won.

Many in here have suggested the 2020 primaries were 'rigged' in various ways.

What an awful argument for getting your candidate elected. "Pay no mind to this genocide we've enabled now because that guy will be worse."

Completely out of touch but not completely inaccurate. Maybe put forth a better argument.
