<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Report: Ex-friend told feds Bonds used steroidsESPN.com news servicesBarry Bonds' former best friend and business associate told investigators that the San Francisco Giants slugger used steroids and suffered "roid rages," his lawyer told The New York Times.Steve Hoskins also told investigators that Bonds gave him thousands of dollars to give to two of Bonds' girlfriends, Michael Cordoza, Hoskins' lawyer, told the newspaper.Cordoza told The Times that Hoskins spoke to investigators, but would not say if he has testified before the grand jury investigating Bonds for perjury and tax evastion. The grand jury is meeting Thursday and again next week. After that, the grand jury's term expires. The New York Daily News reported Tuesday that Major League Baseball officials, who have no inside knowledge of the grand jury proceedings, expect Bonds to be indicted on perjury and tax evasion charges. Bonds reportedly testified before a grand jury in 2003 that he did not knowingly use steroids.Cardoza told The Times that Bonds' steroid use and "roid rages" led to the end of Hoskins' friendship with the slugger."Stevie would nag Barry to get off the stuff," Cardoza told the newspaper. "Their relationship finally went in the toilet, business and personal. And with that, Barry is saying Stevie stole from me. It's not true. He reports that to the feds. The feds do a full-blown investigation."Hoskins, who was Bonds' best man at his wedding in 1998, and Bonds sold the outfielder's sports equipment and collectible lithographs through Hoskins' company.Michael Rains, Bonds' lawyer, told The Times that Bonds went to the federal government in June 2002 to complain that Hoskins was forging his name and stealing from him. The government then "turned around and used" Hoskins as an informant, Rains told the newspaper.Rains told The Times that Hoskins and Kimberly Bell, Bonds' former girlfriend who has twice testified against him before a grand jury, are the government's two main witnesses."We made no deal with the feds," Cardoza told The Times. "We cut no deal with anybody. All we did was tell the truth and protect Steve and prove to them that Barry is not a truth-teller."Laura Enos, Bonds' attorney for business matters, told The Times that Hoskins threatened her client after Bonds confronted Hoskins in June 2003 over the alleged forging of Bonds' signature on contracts."He came and we met in a conference room," Enos told The Times. "He said: 'I have three doors. If you don't drop this memorabilia issue, I'm going to ruin Barry. Behind door No. 1 is an extramarital affair. Behind door No. 2 is failure to declare income tax. And behind door No. 3 is use of steroids. And I will go to the press and ruin Barry. His records will be ruined. He will never get into the Hall of Fame.'"</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2517874

The guy is a juicer, he knows he did it. Just expel him from the game forever and wipe out his numbers and then let the government take care of him. Or let someone throw a 100 mph fastball at his head with no penalty.

Does anyone think "ex-friend" kinda gives the guy a shady background and makes him unreliable?

He's never tested Positive. You can have all these theories and stories but show me the failed drug tests.

There's blood tests plus HGH I believe doesnt make you hit hr's. Here's what they do:younger skin thicker skin fewer wrinkles stronger bones increased lean body mass lowered body fat higher energy levels enhanced sexual performance stronger immune system greater cardiac output sharper vision improved mood better memory what they do:In the article it stated that Bonds had mood swings but HGH improves your mood.

when bonds was juicing there was no drug tests in baseball. It was random drug tests without your name. You pissed in a cup, put in in a room and left it there. They then sent it to the lab. as long as it was under like 5% of the league using banned substances then there was no need to put the names with the piss. And that is why no one failed drug tests till after conesco's book.

    1) The MLB doesnt currently test for HGH because there is no credible test for HGH useage. There is a blood test for HGH useage, but the MLB doesnt use it because it is not accurate enough. They have however paid the doctors at UCLA to develop a credible test for HGH, but they have yet to come up with one. 2) Nobody said that Barry Bonds has used HGH over his entire career. Keep in mind that they didnt really become strict with their drug testing Policy until last season. It is very possible that he used Steroids for years, but when the implemented a new drug testing policy he switched from Anabolic Steroids to HGH. Or he may still be using a type of currently undectectable Steroids.3) What HGH does is it triggers the Pituitary Gland in your Brain to produce more Growth Hormones causeing your body to grow. Just taking Human Growth Hormone and living a normal lifestyle would result in you getting fat. Taking HGH plus spending hours upon hours in the Gym working out is what produces the extreme growth in muscle mass, and an extreme growth in muscle mass would allow you to put more force behind the baseball bat and hit it further.

First of all, he doesn't do it anymore so there's no need to care. Second off, even if he was doing it today, what makes you think he'd hit any HR's the way he's swinging?

Taking the juice and HGH not only gives him more muscles, but in Canseco's book, he said he could use a heavier bat without losing bat speed, and that at a time when players are dead, he was fresher b/c of the juice and other performance-enhancers. Also, in Bonds case, the extra muscle and improved eyesight allowed him to see the pitch a little longer and still be able to send it yard. It allowed him to be more selective at the plate, which is why he was able to send it yard as much as he did, even while getting all those walks, intentional and unintentional.
