TNT has nothing to do with the NBA LeaguePass and Amazon won’t either FAMS!

TNT parent company currently produces it, provides NBATV studios, and is in charge of the IT/systems that deploys it. That'll transition to Amazon next year.

TNT brand is not on league pass anywhere, maybe that's what your thinking. But it's the backbone of how the system functions that Turner and their studios currently provide.

You’re going to have to send me some links on this.
Turner doesn’t have anything to do with the actual NBA LeaguePass. The NBATV studio is in ATL, but that’s it. Everything is run by the league itself thru Seacacus, NJ. The studios are there, the NBA reviews are there.
Every camera from every game around the league is fibered back to NJ and the interns simply have a huge patch bay and they babysit.
If you watch a game and during breaks sometimes see a commercial running and quickly changes to the big screen show at the arena, that’s an intern patching in a different source. Sometimes they leave the feed alone, sometimes they try to clean it up that way. We have communication with the home studio in case of emergencies actually.

“Streaming Service” is run by Turner. Just the shooting out of the signal that streams off their servers out of ATL.

The NBA itself is in control of the League Pass in NJ. The headquarters in Seacacus. The only thing that Turner actually produces is the NBATV studio show and TNT games out of Atlanta.

And all Amazon will do is take of the servers and streaming responsibilities. They will also produce those games that were formally on TNT. They simply “Distribute” the signal.

All the games, cameras and reviews will come out of NJ that is ran by the league itself.

I think we are just using different terms. Here. I just shot the NBA’s director of broadcast Paul a text…..that’s where I got the info for my last post. Sure TNT then AMazon will shoot the signal into space, but the NBA actually is in charge of the LEAGUEPASS.

We have whats called branding and virtual signage. Started during the bubble actually. Used to just be on national games, but now all regional broadcasts have them. Every game at 3pm, we have to get on with our cameras and the league in Seacacus to make sure these all sinc up.Because the NBA uses our footage as well. It’s the same office that runs the LeaguePass and reviews.

I think you are thinking more on the Distribution end of things compared to who is actually in charge of it sir. It’s no different than Blazers games…..People used to always thing Fox Sports/Comcast/NBCSports/ROOT and now KATU were the ones in charge of and producing the broadcasts….but they simply patched a cable into the wall and received our feed, then turned around and patched another cable and sent it out to the fans. Nothing whatsoever to do with the broadcast. Same as people like QUick or the Morong guy or Jaynes when they are on TV talking…..they have NOTHING to do with us. Including the postgame show radio guy, can’t remember his name that likes stirring stuff up. He’s an employee of the radio station that shoots out our call of the game.

But I think if TNT's cable was causing the glitch then Amazon's cable may not be causing the glitch.

I believe that was the point of saying it may be better once it changes hands. I could be wrong though.

I remember once years ago, when we came back from halftime….. our broadcast to the Portland Metro area was fine, but the league back in NJ at halftime didn’t switchback from the bigscreen show. Everywhere else in the world tuning in on LeaguePass got the Jumbotron show. That shirt was hilarious. I had people all over the country texting me saying what the fuck! Why am I seeing Joel Przybilla on a big screen holding tacos! HA!

Lots of great details in your posts, I appreciate you sharing.

My original post was about the switch from TNT to Amazon might help the end user with glitches in the NBA league pass experience. I'm still not sure if Turner or the NBA is responsible for those issues but I'd expect with Amazon and their streaming expertise it either stays the same or hopefully improves.

Yeah thats why when people complain about their “league pass” or Blazer games……It simply depends on WHO you are getting it thru. The league or us sends out the signals…..but then it goes to YouTube,NBA Streaming,Xfinity,Firestick….etc.then to the consumer. Who knows what they are doing to it once it is shot out. I remember eastern Oregon used to complain all the time about the Blazer signal and they found out that once it got bounced around off satellites, it went to some almost 90 year old booster antenna outside of LaPine or some shit….. It was dilapidated and was crushing our feed. A lot goes into getting the game out to people.

Yes. It shows games (both past and present games) but has a weird symbol on it which the Google says it's not available.

Well, I checked my TV for the new channel and saw that there was a game being replayed (from 1992) so I clicked on it.

And it's apparently not available in my area.

I mean ffs...it's 2025 and they still fuck things up.
