    Good questions.

Trump put in charge of immigration policy Tom Homans, who was behind policy of taking immigrant children from parents and not returning them. Ask him.

Former secretary of veterans affairs who was forced out under threat of criminal prosecution will now be in charge of staffing Pentagon. In the intervening years he has speaking engagements at a church that literally worships assault weapons and whose pastor wears a crown of bullets. Also guest on podcast whose host blames Jews for "taking down Hitler" who he considers a hero, and also blames Jews for 9/11.

Stephen Miller will be in charge of setting overall policy agenda. Congressman who participated in January 6 insurrection will be national security advisor.

Trump will with cooperation of other two branches of government consolidate power in himself alone.

He has asked Senate to go into recess as soon as they are sworn in so he can appoint everyone as recess appointments with no Senate approval needed. Clearly Republican controlled Senate will approve everyone he wants however unqualified or extreme but as recess appointments there are no hearings, no debates. Senate becomes irrelevant.

Congress returns to session and is fast tracking a bill that will allow Trump to remove any organization's nonprofit status by declaring them terrorist. No evidence needed and no appeal. It won't pass now with Democrats holding Senate but will in January.

Biden your dogs! Puppy killer Kristi Noemi to head Department of Natural Security.
Even those who aren't dog people don't like puppy killing. That story was told to appeal to one person, Trump. He wants to use government for revenge. She showed she is vicious enough.

I think it's Homeland Security, but she might be better at Natural Security?

I think it's actually pretty hard to predict. Trump has never been interested in governing (except as an instance of exercising power, because that makes him feel good), it's always been abut winning. But there are no more campaigns to run. (Although I do predict that he'll be asking teams of lawyers to work out what it would take to get rid of that two-term limit.) So it'll all be about personal enrichment.

We've already seen that he's basically saying that he's delegating everything (except oil, always a key presidential purview) to other people, the crazier the better. But he'll still expect to get all the credit. So the big question is how long it will take for him sour on the people he's delegating to. And key question of all, is how long the Musk-Trump bromance can last. Neither one of them is exactly known for being capable of long-lasting relationships of mutual respect. Musk obviously has all the incentives in the world to keep blowing smoke up Trump's ass so he can feather his nest, but he shares Trump's inability to avoid self-destructive behavior, so... should be fun. Something to enjoy as the world burns.

I like you and I feel like we have always had mutual respect, but it seems like you're the one who is actually miserable.....and angry. It sounds like you have a good job, you live in a good place that offers you the opportunity to do the things you like to do, but you act like life cheated you somewhere along the line. You obviously feel like you have been treated unfairly by America somewhere along the way, so let's burn it all down. Speaking for myself, I AM miserable because all I can see is a trainload of avoidable misery (in the form of racism, misogyny, homophobia, hatred and authoritarianism) barreling down the tracks at America. And the only (cold) comfort I (and those like me) can find is knowing that all those who bought the lies are in for a very rude awakening. Otherwise, I'm happier than a hog in shit........white privilege and all that.....

I had to read up on this before commenting and this is truly frightening.

We've already seen states, including Oregon, pass laws redefining what terrorism is and tying it to protests. We will see this further defined and expanded on a federal level to include very subjective and minor crimes. If a member of a group does something that is defined as illegal, the group they belong to can be declared a terrorist group.

And while some will say this is great, it will prevent people from rioting in cities, it will also be used in horrifying ways.

Labor unions are nonprofit. If a striking union blocks "scabs" from entering the work site, that's a crime and the union will be declared a terrorist organization, and their nonprofit status will be removed. A labor union can only be nonprofit. That union would no longer exist.

If a Pro-Life provocateur joins a Planned Parenthood protest and breaks a window, it's a crime, PP is now a terrorist organization, and they lose their nonprofit status, effectively putting them out of business.

If the ACLU holds a rally on courthouse steps, and someone claims they were pushed by someone attending that rally, you guessed it, terrorist organization, nonprofit status removed, ACLU no longer exists.

Or if ACLU or Amnesty International defends someone accused of "terrorism" under this very loose definition.

Democrats worry support for trans rights will limit their political power:
    https://www.semafor.com/article/11/...-where-to-draw-the-line-on-transgender-rights

I predict they will try to take both sides at once and alienate a vulnerable group further, giving up on them by the midterm. The midterm blue wave will make them think this was the right move, and trans rights will be curtailed semi-permanently because of this.

Mike Huckabee, hard core Christian, will be our ambassador to Israel. Kristi Noem the lady who shot her dog and has fifteen brain cells is now in charge of Homeland Security. Trump just keeps hitting home runs. Such an unserious party. Idiots.

Huckabee says there is no such thing as Palestinians and makes "jokes" about Nazi Holocaust.

Wall Street Journal reports Trump plans to set up a panel of "warriors" to recommend getting rid of generals and admirals not sufficiently loyal or who are "woke (which could mean anything).

From the sounds of this stuff, this has an increasing chance of collapsing more spectacularly and faster than I ever imagined.

A National Guardsman and Fox News host as Secretary of Defense? What could go wrong?

Who’s going to add “military coup” to the predictions thread?
