They are everywhere. I know multiple that I'd feel very confident would do better. Find one who can do the job and give him a shot. If you don't like that one move on to the next one. I would definitely look for someone who has coached or played for an extended time in other countries. *Edit* We probably have someone on staff who could do better...
There are guys taking a year off, in between jobs, G League guys who WILL be HCs eventually who would love a shot. Even a guy like Jim Moran (already with Sac), would come in and do better than this.
Phats, I hope you realize that HCP's purpose in being here is to defend his friends. Near the end of McMillan's tenure, he defended Nate the same way he later defended Stotts. There are a few posters here who always defend the status quo by challenging us amateurs to do a nationwide search, then name names of replacements. They want no change, ever. But now that I advocate for his friend McMillan to replace Billups, I think I have stymied HCP. My lifelong quest.
Yes. I told you 5 years ago I'm merely saying this no matter what. Did you forget? I have to uphold this!
it's ok to stymie HCP, it's good exercise for him but please don't stunt his growth; he can't afford to get shorter
Every time I see that, I think of THC, which is to marijuana as nicotine is to tobacco. If I start adding "The" I'll soon abbreviate your name to THC. So I don't. I'll just call you "Upper" and you can call me "Downer," but don't call me late for supper...I could type lines of stream-of-consciousness but I'll stop...
New ownership could do a lot of very beneficial things some of which are; 1 Stop micromanage the GM and stop allowing Bert Kolde/Vulcan to make decisions 2 Stop prioritize cash savings that provide zero roster talent (selling multiple draft picks, dumping players like Brogdon Hart Powell to cut luxury tax, dumping salary in another half dozen trades, not using the MLE or TPE) 3 Stop giving out horrible contracts to mediocre veterans that lead to problem #2 4 Pay luxury tax in a few seasons where its helps the team. It doesn't need to be Steve Balmer or 2000's Paul Allen SPAM spending, but just more than being one of the cheapest franchises in the league in recent years 5 Provide a tiny bit of a public appearance - Paul Allen did an annual training camp interview for the Blazers, other NBA ownership groups give communications to fans, the Blazers do and say nothing 6 Hire and empower a GM that has ONE long term strategic vision and works over multiple seasons to execute this. A selection should have started for this position the day Olshey was fired, instead the Blazers handed the keys to the cheapest interim GM available. Then when trading Dame the Blazers should have committed 100% to a long term rebuild - instead we acquired or held onto expensive veterans.
Ant and Chauncey are the last of Neil Olshey's hirings.....clean the slate...New coach...dump the unnecessary albatross in the backcourt for cap relief and draft capital. Do it Joe! Ant is not ever going to get the bag again or be an alpha leader or part of a core on any NBA team...Beijing Ducks, meet your new pt guard!
I'm ready to trade our big three for expirings, young players, and picks. Let's get in the lottery the right way.
I say call Brandon Roy. Ask him to help us out for the rest of the year and get these young guys ready. Don’t let them get away with shit.
So how does this work? Does Chauncy get credit for last nights win based off his adjustments? Just want to make sure he gets as much credit as he gets blame.
Billups is primarily responsible when the Blazers lose. If the Blazers win its because they got lucky with shots going in, other team injuries, or maybe some Blazer players were able to overcome Billups terrible coaching and elevate the team to the win.
Despite your snarky intention, it's honestly a really good question. The change in performance could legitimately be attributed to several factors, not the least of which is Ant and Ayton's absence. Also, the fact that the Blazers simply made shots--no amount of coaching can be credited for last night's accuracy or Sunday's ineptitude from deep. But certainly, Chauncey's response to the abject failure against Memphis certainly had some impact on the team's defensive intensity and focus on attacking the rim. What can be stated with absolute certainty is that the Blazers dominance of the Wolves last night was not due to simply "having more talent", as some seem to suggest is the only relevant factor.
I must have missed hundreds of your posts. Can you cite your posts in which you made sure he got the blame? Billups was in a panic and criticized his players. He finally motivated them, so they won. Billups had either read how this board is swinging, or someone had told him. So we Billups critics will take credit for this win. Whenever he loses, you Billups defenders should take credit for the loss. See? Simple. Go to your room. But not right now. Stay out of here.
Never have sold any cars it's a different guy up there know relationships due he spells his last name different.
