    His career wasn't the military, either, if we want to be accurate. Like Walz, who was a teacher first and a National Guardsman, Hesgeth was a member of the NG. He did tours overseas under fire, but, in peacetime, he did one weekend a month and two weeks per year. It wasn't his vocation, but now he's in charge of those who are soldiers 24/7.

    Looking into it, I'm surprised at how many recent Secretaries of Defense didn't serve in the military at all, or had a very short military career. Gates, Panetta, Hagel, and Carter all served 0-4 years. None of Clinton's 3 served. Seems like Intelligence Agency service is a more common credential than military service is...which unfortunately, says a lot.

    I guess when one side thinks the DOJ is weaponized, they blatantly do the same. Thats politics in America now. Term limits for congress and SCJ's and take money out of elections. Establish new regulations with the two major parties controlling, media, debates, money etc. Its certainly cant go on like this.

    He resigned from the House, so there no longer is an ethics investigation.

    Now it comes down to whether the Republicans actually want him to answer questions before the Senate votes on his appointment or they just let Trump do these as recess appointments with no session, as Massie said would happen today.
