Turnovers don’t count as a stat towards triple doubles. Only points, rebounds, blocks, steals, assists.

I kind of knew this would happen. Just too many people watch that show. When you hold that kind of viewership numbers the value is just too high.

Almost guaranteed prediction: Wembanyama will get quadruple doubles in his career.

Will he every get a 5x double? I'd think steals will be the hardest for him but I wouldn't be shocked if he eventually gets one.

    I meant a 5x10 - not sure the term for it. He's done 5x5

I’d argue that steals are the hardest for anyone to get 10+ even a defensive guard that gets them easily.

Makes me wonder how many triple doubles in history involves 10+ steals.

If you can get 10 blocks you can probably get 10 rebounds and 10 points; but getting 10 assists and 10 steals would be unlikely.

I’d say the difficulty ranking is as follows

    Points < Rebounds/Assists < Blocks < Steals

With rebounds and assists being = depending on position.

I’d guess that the overwhelming majority of triple doubles in history have come from Points/Rebounds/Assists

If you can get 10+ Blocks/Steals you are probably in quadruple double territory and therefore it wouldn’t count as a triple double?

Clyde Drexler has gotten the most career triple-doubles when recording 10+ steals, with 2 triple-doubles. Screenshot_20241117_084841_Chrome.jpg

So only 8 players have got triple double with steals? More rare than I thought.
