I think they just didn't have room for him. And when he would come in for just a few minutes he would probably try to do too much.
I don't think his 3 pt % will hold up but I think he might be able to maintain an above average 2 pt. %
I want Banton to take Ant's minutes. They won't do that but I like Banton's overall game better than Simons.
He is a chucker, but in the most positive sense of the word. He is endlessly aggressive, continuously putting pressure on the defense. He has a mentality that (unfortunately) cannot be taught. I wish we could put his brain in Sharpe's body. Well, probably his ligaments too...
He is averaging 6.3 FGA in 10.3 min/gm this season ... the only other Blazer that is close to that in shots per minute is Ant at 16 FGA in 32 min/gm. Last year he was a little over the FGA for every 2 minutes on the floor threshold. He is the definition of a chucker!
Wow that's some serious chucking. Problem is I don't really see anyone on this roster I'm excited to get more FGA. If we had traded away a couple of our vets before the season I would've like to use our 2nd round picks. Or even just have got a Knecht type with that Warriors lottery pick.
I've came around on Banton, he's been by far the best PG on this team and deserves to start. I thought he was a scrub but he's proven me wrong.
I think he is the best so far, which isn't saying much. He's in a contract year, and is fighting for his NBA life, which i think causes him to call his own number a lot. He's averaging almost 20 shots per 36, but has a better than average TS%. I'd like Simons to go so we get a longer look at him this year.
