I give the coaching staff credit for righting the ship after the Memphis iceberg sunk the Blazers. These last two games are the way I want to see this team play...steals, blocks, defense, assists...scrapping out wins.

So nice to have a coach who has his experience as a player...Once the handcuffs are off, he can be a hell of a coach. He understands the flow, and makes great subs.

Coaches don’t deserve credit for wins or losses, it’s all about the talent on the floor or lack of it.

In the field I cover on a daily basis (ice hockey) it's my mindset as well. The coach is responsable for the +/- 10% his team does on the court/ice and could lower the floor or raise de ceiling a little. But the vast majority of the work is not his.

Not gonna post in this thread when we win? Seems strange to bitch about Coach Billups only when we lose doesn’t it?

Don't worry, as soon as there are two losses it'll all be Billups fault.

    Don't question my answer!

Besides: you don't believe that the coach makes any difference, player talent is all that matters, so you're more insulting to Chauncey than any of his critics.

Was it the coaching or was it the fates that had Simons and Ayton injured at the same time? I do think he is doing something right though. How did Camara become such a good defender? Why are all the young guys working so hard on defense? If their offense is so bad, how did they get a lot of open threes? (I don't know if they do. Wizenheimer will need to check this :) )
BTW, do you guys watch when Billups is talking to a guy on the sideline? I don't have enough instances to go on yet, but here is what I saw a couple times. When he is talking to Scoot or Sharpe, they don't make eye contact or respond verbally. Some times I feel they might disagree by their facial expression but they just go back to the game. Banton on the other hand, makes good eye contact and engages in a conversation. It could be that Scoot and Sharpe are just anxious to get back in the game and don't want to miss what is happening out there.

You are wrong sir. That’s my dawg and couldn’t insult him if I tried.
When we go on to lose 55+ games this season, just want to make sure the blame is placed in the proper direction.

CB has been trying to mold his teams into the 90’s pistons since he’s been here. Unfortunately for him none of those teams ever came close to having the defenders to do it.

this years team minus Ayton and Simons are really really good defensively (or potentially). Dani and Camara are good/great defenders and then behind them you have RW and Clingan. Even guys like Banton, Sharpe, Rupert, Grant and Murray are all putting out good effort on defense. We now have a long active defenders, fun to watch.

It's almost like having a roster that isn't stupid young, or fundamentally and massively flawed, pays off.

Well then the flipside follows: the praise for the three victories goes in the same direction.

Yeah, don't understand how anyone can give Chauncey a bad coaching grade with these ridiculous rosters Cronin puts together.

That said I like the players Cronin has drafted and the length of our wings. It's just none of the rosters make sense, even for a rebuilding team.
