Can we package Thybulle with Reath?

Sure, Reath can be packaged with anyone because his salary is small.

Id think the problem is Thybulle has negative trade value though.

Would be better to just eat Thybulle contract but get a 2nd round pick for Reath.

They seem like good partners, and there's been talk of them wanting Simons, but they don't have any expiring contracts.

I don't care of they are expiring contracts. We can take bad contracts. Just give us good picks.

Getting a good pick for Simons at this point would be an absolute miracle. He’s been exposed

The Magic don't really have bad contracts though.

Seems like most the teams with bad contracts are rebuilding and want to keep their picks.

The Spurs took on bad contracts for picks in July but we started the summer in the luxury tax so weren't able to look for those opportunities. Might be that they are commonly in June/July with the new CBA as teams are just more proactive about not having had contracts.

I'd take a pick for Simons and Grant/Ayton at this point. But yeah. You're probably right.

    I just want more FRPs.

    Oh me too my guy.

Jerami for sure should yield a first, at this point I think several seconds and a young prospect is best case for the other two.

but, we also have Reath/matisse and time lord to continue to pack the chest.

we’re in a good position right now despite the pessimism all around

Yep, agreed. I'd include them as well. I just don't think they necessary NEED to go. But yeah, if we can turn them into first rounders, absolutely.

Receive a first round pick??? I'd give up a 2nd round pick to dump either Simons or Ayton.

Giving up 1-2 lottery picks for Deni is about the complete opposite direction of what this franchise should have done since trading Lillard. Yes we should've flipped all the vets for a FRP whenever possible. At this point we probably missed the opportunity of that.

Expecting that we see this Grant/Ant/Ayton horrific big3 trio for the rest of this season but will be pleasantly surprised if we trade any. Will be ecstatic if we can get a FRP - that just doesn't seem realistic. 29 teams are going to do their due diligence before giving up value for these guys and its pretty obvious this season they aren't difference makers even for the worst in the west lottery team.

I wouldn't give anything to get rid of them, but I agree with the rest. I want picks in return for our guys and I'll take young guys with potential as well.

for Simons/Ayton/Thybulle/Timelord? "picks" and/or prospects? Not happening for the first 3. So if Cronin is like you and holding the line, be prepared to watch Simons & Ayton next season too. And then, be prepared for Cronin to re-sign them and burden all of us with gagging on their empty-calorie games for years. I want that possibility eliminated which is a big reason I'd attach 2nd round picks to those two guys just to get them off the team. Addition by subtraction

as for Thybulle, I doubt any team would trade a pick for him and at 12M, I doubt any team would want him, especially considering he hasn't played this season. I still think there's a possibility Thybulle opts out of his contract and signs elsewhere next summer

Timelord? If any team offers a heavily protected 1st and an expiring contract, take it and run. I'm pretty skeptical any team will do that. Especially considering that now, apparently, Timelord has a concussion issue to add to his list of chronic health problems

I think Grant is the only legitimate hope for leveraging a decent 1st round pick. But if Cronin is demanding two 1st's, Grant will be in Portland next season too

I'm not holding the line, that's just what I want. I'd be fine with a FRP or two from the whole lot of them, if that's all we can get.

I just want as many as we can get.

I think a trade that might make sense for both teams is Ant and Delano for Anthony Black, Cole Anthony and the less desirable of the two FRPs the Magic will likely have in the upcoming draft... maybe with the stipulation that if the Nuggets pick somehow didn't convey that we would get one of the two second round picks that the Magic have in the upcoming draft.

I think Joe is just trying to get more out of the Lakers for Jerami and maybe get some other teams to try and outbid them. I think if the offer is Rui, Vincent, one of their vet min players and either their 2029 FRP or their 2031 FRP we should jump at that and see if we can flip Rui along with some second rounders for another FRP. We could just waive both guys that aren't Rui.

I think there might be a market out there for Deandre. I sincerely doubt it includes a FRP but maybe if we were willing to take on a longer bad contract or contracts back we could get a FRP in return.

I just saw something from SI saying that the Warriors would be interested in Jerami and Rob. It could have been generated by AI that had to write a certain amount of articles and I saw it earlier but can't find it now. Jerami and Rob for Kuminga was the gist but that doesn't work and I don't think it's enough but what about this... and maybe we could find a win now team that would want DLo, we would cut Vincent and Reddish.

Grant ain't bringing a FRP. Not a single Blazer could bring a FRP.

Most likely to fetch a FRP still might be Timelord if he can get healthy in the next few weeks then have a good stretch of games up to the deadline. It won't be a great FRP - at vest probably like the Josh Hart pick that became Murray.

The other vets have probably lost even more of whatever little value they had, so no they can't get a pick. Maybe we can flip them for an equally useless player on a similar contract which would be worth doing just so it is a new face that doesn't have an entitled role here.
