Ducks landed another DB in the transfer portal this morning: a depth & experience addition. 1 year of eligibility
I don't understand the fans who are complaining that we are bringing in veteran DBs. We can't just start an entirely true freshman secondary next season. That would be begging for trouble.
I have zero problems with the Ducks becoming the team that fans of all other college teams whine about having an unfair advantage in recruiting. In fact, I'm pretty much enjoying every whiny comment I read.
Seriously though, if people think this place is bad, go hang out on Scoop Duck. That place is toxic as fuck. I have never seen so many internet tough guys calling other people betas.
the media stuff is just business. The NW doesn't have the numbers so it's teams will never be catered to nor should anyone paying attention expect anything different. STOMP
New Duck QB signee Akili Smith led his HS team to the state title in the California 1-AA division looking really impressive while doing so... STOMP
I'm pretty much the same age as you, and growing up in the '60s and '70s it was always, Alabama, USC, Notre Dame, Penn St., Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma and Ohio State (I might have missed one or two). Pretty much everyone else was nothing but schedule padding and hind teat suckers for decades. U of O and OSU were just grateful for a no name bowl game. Those schools seemed to have every advantage, and they (and their fans) were never classy about it in general. They had a sense of entitlement, bragged about their boosters (and the riches they provided) and had the NCAA ever been actually (consistently) serious about the rules, most of those schools would have gotten the "death penalty" several times over (SMU was a token sacrifice.....and because their violations were so egregious). So I'm 100% with you; screw those whiney assholes. I am absolutely reveling in the fact that USC, Nebraska, Alabama etc have fallen on what they consider "hard times". And I can't help hoping they fall even farther. Thank you Uncle Phil! We'll enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts. Nothing wrong with having the richest owner in college sports.....
