If Scoot is working as hard as Pritchard he'll be fine.

But if Scoot worked as hard as Pritchard he would be better than this right now.

Hooray for the Blazers not being one of the worst in the league here.

Think were seeing why DeRozen has been on bad teams so many years. Not only can he not shoot the 3, but now the defense can lock down the other 3 pt shooters on the floor.

Toronto trades him away and wins a title - not a coincidence.

I'd look to get a FRP from Sacramento for eating DeRozen contract if they ever explore that idea.

The key to Boston is yes they can spread the floor with FIVE 3 pt shooters, but they also have excellent defenders, and they have multiple guys who can break down a switching defense to create shots.

Thats just insanely hard to match up with for opponents on both sides of the floor.

Super hard to build a roster that can do all those things though. They have two All-NBA wings in their 20's - most teams cant even get one. Then to have multiple role players that can hit 3's and defend super well - again just very hard to do.

So its not really the # of threes Boston is taking from a strategic perspective - its their roster construction that allows them to take those while still having a balanced effective team.

Context matters. They traded for arguably the best player in the league.

And Siakam came on strong simultaneously, playing nearly as well as Kawhi. (He stayed at basically that level after Kawhi left, so it's not like DeRozan held him back and Kawhi made life easier for him.)

The NBA Literally Gives LeBron Stats That They Don't Give Jokic

The "assists" shown in this video are asinine.

Isn't there some kind of auditing by the NBA to make sure stats are real?

A player catching a ball then taking 3 dribbles then shooting, how is that an assist?

Google John Stockton home assists. They used to joke that he started the game with 5 dimes….they counted the layup line.

The game wouldn't be worse, imho, if they did away with the 3pt line or just moved it back some. Make it 2.5 points for cryin out loud. Jacking 3s is super boring to watch.

I just looked at his home/road assist averaged for about 10 of his seasons. Looks like he averaged about 1.0-1.5 more assists at home; sometimes less. Then I looked at Utah's home/road scoring and FG% splits. On average Utah scored about 7-8 more points at home than on the road; and shot 5-8% better. In other words, any differential in assist averages can be directly correlated to Utah simply being a better scoring team at home. The scorekeepers weren't giving Utah baskets they didn't convert

I've heard this assertion about Stockton's home assist rate being bloated before, but the actual numbers don't support the claim

That's the great thing about conspiracies - actual numbers or facts are meaningless.

What chess move was it when he traded us the pick that we turned into Brandon Roy in return for Sebastian Telfair? Hey, I wonder if he's interested in Scoot...

Especially drafting future superstars like Cody Williams! Here are his stats:
    7.87 points
    5.89 rebounds
    3.1 assists
Pretty good for 18 mpg, right? Except those are his PER 48 MINUTES stats...

Yeah - the Jazz draft picks the last few years aren't very exciting.

They actually haven't drafted as high as you'd think since they had a few years with unexpected wins - appears they are more aggressively tanking now to get higher picks.

Pritchard is smart. Smart players learn the game and usually improve.
