I'm not going to argue this stuff with you because you may be right about perception but Rui is a worse player than Jerami, he's just asked to do a helluva lot less and this season has better efficiency because of it.

You've been super low on all of our players this season. You pick the articles that support your stance like the Athletic article and you ignore the stuff that Shams says because it doesn't suit your narrative. Again, you could be right and I hope you're wrong... I'm sure you do too.

I'm just hoping, even if you're right and they have less value than I think, that we get at least Ant and Jerami traded. So I know we'll wait but I'm just hoping we'll see what we can get for those guys.

The worst would be we can't/don't trade either Ant or Ayton before their contracts expire and we resign them because management doesn't want to lose them for "nothing".

    No. Just no.

Zion has missed the majority of his career. He is not quite Greg Oden, but isn't far behind.

Wonderful when he can play, but you never know when that will be and you definitely can't count on him being around.

    Just no.

Rui is younger, on a cheaper contract, shoots much better from 3, shoots better from 2, much better rebounder.

I just don't see an "upgrade" from Rui to Grant being worth the $160 million Grant contract plus sending us FRP plus other players.

I guess we will see what happens.

Yes I've got continually more pessimistic of our veteran trade worth over the last year+.

First with the inaction from Cronin for constructing this flawed dual timeline roster that continually makes no sense going back to the day Dame was traded.

Secondly from our vets all having much worse performance this season statistically than in their careers - as well as the Blazers team losing so much. Other teams will at the least see all the same data we see.

Yeah I hope I'm wrong and our vets are all traded for some collection of multiple picks or a Zion type of player. I'll believe it when I see it.

contract has nothing to do with who is the superior basketball player and I would bet my left nut not one person in the NBA thinks Rui is a better player than jerami Grant. That’s actually one of the worst takes I’ve ever heard on this platform and I’ve been around a pretty long time.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the team but boy…

Lakers would be salivating if they can swap Hachimura with Grant

I want the picks, not a Zion type player.

Yeah, I REALLY do not see the appeal of Hachimura. We got the good Wizards forward.

I'm not sure that's true, but it doesn't really matter because they can't do it. 2nd apron issue so the trade would have to be more and it probably has died many deaths because of the details

The discussion was trade value - so contract is a major factor.

I don't see the appeal of a 30 year old Grant shooting 39%, pulling down 3 rpg and earning $160 million.

Would be great if some stupid GM in the NBA would cough up a FRP for that.

Unfortunately I suspect the only one who might do that - works for my favorite NBA team.

Cronin ain’t the guy. Time for him to be let go. The only good moves he has made, Deni and Toumani, are solid guys but not exactly all star material. Joe should be fired. The Grant contract was asinine and we are stuck with him. This is really going to fuck up the rebuild. Sure he inherited a mess but so did Ainge and UTA has a lot more assets now than POR, including tradable talent. We are stuck with this fucking crew and those 3 vets should just be benched until they are willing to play hard.

Billups seems intent on giving max minutes to Ant, Ayton, and Grant. The fact Deni, the most impactful player on the team, doesn’t even start is grounds for firing as well. Cant wait until they are all gone.

Getting Tou was pretty great. Deni was an overpay for a good role player... seems like the Portland special. Maybe Joe was the guy who pitched Neil the RoCo deal and/or the Nance deal. Yes, picking up Deni wasn't terrible, he's on a very good contract and he's a solid role player but his ceiling is probably something like a sixth man on a contending roster or even a fifth starter on one. If the guy ends up being an allstar for us, I'll gladly eat crow but two firsts is an overpay for that.

So again there is Tou, there is getting two swaps, three firsts and hopefully something for Rob out of Dame but that's where the good moves start and that's where they stop. Maybe overpaying Jerami ends up bringing back positive things. I thought Ant was probably overpaid because it's hard for a RFA to get that kind of money but hopefully he'll bring back something in a trade too. So those are two maybe alright re-signings. There are a bunch of bad moves too. There is some still potentially good but pretty obvious drafting.

I hope Joe shocks the hell out of us between now and February 6th but I'm not counting on it and I'd also love him gone. Didn't like the fact that we didn't search outside of the organization for Olshey's replacement in the first place.

Lord, nowadays, you gotta pay me a 1st to take on that contract. I don’t believe he will have any motivation to play here.

Okay if we could get back a 1st to swap Lavine and Ayton, I’d seriously consider it. My reasons being this:

    - Lavine has an opt out. If he and the team perform well enough, he’s going to secure that last payday. So it’s going to put the pressure on the team to make the playoffs so we can get out of that contract sooner.

    - Right now, I don’t see Lavine as a worse contract in all honesty. We are sorely lacking a go-to guard, Shae doesn’t seem to want it yet.

    - This will either make Shae more motivated or suppress his worth come negotiation time. Make it clear to him that we are bringing Lavine in to push Shae into becoming a go-to guy.

    - I think that we have all the makings of a very good defensive team. A sudden spark in offense could actually make us a playoff contender once we bring in our ‘25 lotto pick.

This is all assuming every vet outside of Williams is gone btw.
