I don't think that will be an issue with this team and an incompetent afraid Pres/GM. They are the worst team in the NHL outside of maybe Buffalo, and that's only a maybe. The only reason they are ahead of them now is due to a solid start. But since the Calgary game on Nov 21, they have been the worst team in the NHL with the least number of points in the whole league (18 games 8 total points).
They should have several players that will have nice value at the trade deadline, especially with playoff experience provided Drury isn’t a cluster fuck which I’m not sold on.
Drury is a cluster fuck, not sure what you need to see to be sold on that. In theory they have some tradable players that contenders would want, but again I have zero faith in Drury to make the right moves.
As long as they pick in the top 10 they should get a nice top 6 C. There's a few like Hagens and Misa at the very top, then top 10 picks like Desnoyer and McQueen.
Look, we suck balls. The core forwards were 30 or over. Windows don’t stay open forever. It was inevitable. Now draft some legit centers and develop them properly.
Hopefully they won’t draft more schmucks like Lias Anderson and Kravtsov. One thing at least Drury does fairly well is drafting
You guys have WAY more confidence in Drury than I do. I'm not sure what he has done in his roles to deserve that level of confidence, but more power to you. I actually think he'll F the whole thing up by not trading away the guys he should (just like this past summer), or thinking the team still has a chance and adding instead of subtracting, or making some trades, but getting ripped off with crap returns. We'll see...
we could draft McDavid and he will be lucky to get 12 minutes a game playing behind Zib and Trocheck. we are clueless with high draft picks.
If they really want to rebuild, they have to get rid of these veterans. Put out a group of kids with them getting a ton of pp time.
This is the reason I was saying trade Igor. Igor would have returned a kings ransom of picks/top young talent. Now you have all that money tied up in a goalie when your window has closed and a NMC so we are stuck with him.
By the way, Kakko has been happy and playing well in Seattle since leaving here. 3 points (1 goal and 2 assists) in 5 games. That’s better than most of our top guys lol. Change of scenery was necessary for him, but we absolutely traded him because he called out the coach/management (which he was right to do).
yea, been trying to watch his games when i catch them on. Joined the team at beginning of long road trip and last night was his first home game since joining. Got 17min last night and 18min the game before. good for him. Look forward to seeing how he does once he’s settled in.
I believe they thought they could squeeze another year and playoff run out of this core. I never agreed and obviously it has turned into a complete disaster.
