That son, is how I fed your mother who was pregnant with you! (I met his mom in a college pub in Taipei)
That self employment tax though. I did 1099 for a couple years and damn. Plus either having to do quarterly tax bills or a big ass bill every year. That was not fun. All that said, I look forward to your business being franchised and you sitting on billions of dollars soon.
I’ve only had 3 jobs in my life…..MP in the Army/ Washing cars on a car lot and what I do now. Washing cars in the snow and heat day in and day out was definitely the easiest, but they most monotonous!
I know it's gonna be a battle but 9-5 in the office just wasn't going to work for me moving forward. Not with 2 kids under 2. Luckily my wife makes twice what I was making, so I have the opportunity to take a risk and hopefully grow something out of nothing.
Get yourself a good accountant. They are worth the $3-5K or so you have to pay them every year in my experience... You still need to double-check their work, but man, they save you a lot of trouble and can help with some of the arcane stuff...
As someone that lives this life ... it's quite interesting the job people think we have, vs. the job we actually have. As a guy at a small market station, my job is different from even your friends as I'm out at games/events a few times a week with the camera on my shoulder. I use to get surprised at how many people would comment that "don't you have someone to do the shooting for you?" as I think they just assumed I kicked my feet up on a desk and watched sports all night, never leaving the newsroom. I don't have kids but know quite a few that got out of the biz because it's a 2-11 type of shift, missing out on birthdays and games and a lot of that life type stuff.
If you can find a gig as a weatherperson, that to me is the easiest job in the news business. Just look up the forecasts on the internet and tell people what you expect to see the following day, plus it's a job where most people expect you to be wrong. Now being a Meteorologist takes away some of the carefree nature of the job.
I guess in addition to a job being easy, I'd want it to involve lots of sex, drugs, and rock&roll. So: college student. barfo

I guess my vision of a global moderator is completely wrong. I thought that stuff you listed just naturally comes with the territory.
